Lack of a y-chromosomal complement in the majority of gestational trophoblastic neoplasms. [PDF]
Gestational trophoblastic neoplasms (GTNs) are a rare group of neoplastic diseases composed of choriocarcinomas, placental site trophoblastic tumors (PSTTs) and epithelioid trophoblastic tumors (ETTs). Since these tumors are derivatives of fetal trophoblastic tissue, approximately 50% of GTN cases are expected to originate from a male conceptus and ...

Immunohistochemistry of germ cell and trophoblastic neoplasms [PDF]
The immunoprofiles of 121 germ cell and trophoblastic neoplasms were defined, using a battery of antibodies against cytokeratin (CK), vimentin (VIM), epithelial membrane antigen (EMA), placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP), S-100 protein, leukocyte common antigen (LCA), UCHL-1, LN-2, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), neuron-specific enolase (NSE ...

Epithelioid trophoblastic tumor: a case report of a rare trophoblastic neoplasm
Epithelioid Trophoblastic Tumor (ETT) is a rare neoplasm of the chorionic type intermediate trophoblastic cells. It is a neoplasm of reproductive age women and usually follows a gestational event. ETT can occur at both intra uterine and extra uterine sites and can be confused with other entities such as squamous cell carcinoma, placental site nodule ...

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

Exosome‐based nanoparticles (GC‐Exo‐CD16Ab) are designed to deliver glucocorticoids (GC) specifically to decidual CD16+ NK cells and macrophages. This targeted delivery effectively suppresses the cytotoxicity of decidual NK cells, inhibits M1 macrophage polarization, and modulates the decidual microenvironment.

Abstract Epigenetic regulation plays an important role in cell fate reprogramming. Here, we found that inhibitors of epigenetic modifiers, including VPA, TSA, and 5‐Aza‐2'‐deoxycytidine, can induce phenotypic transformation from Jurkat cells into B‐cell‐like cells. When Jurkat cells were treated with 5‐Aza combined with VPA, B cell and stem cell marker

Abstract Background The combined use of anti‐programmed cell death protein 1 (PD‐1)/anti‐cytotoxic T‐lymphocyte associated protein 4 (CTLA‐4) checkpoint inhibitors has been effective in various cancer types. The Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) Dual Anti‐CTLA‐4 and Anti‐PD‐1 Blockade in Rare Tumors (DART) S1609 study investigated ipilimumab and ...

In pediatric oncology, pharmacogenetic guidelines are underutilized and the potential impact of pre‐emptive pharmacogenetic screening remains largely unexplored despite this field's need for individualized approaches. While comprehensive pharmacogenetic guidelines are not yet available for all anticancer drugs, evidence‐based recommendations exist for ...

Non‐Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) is a kind of frequently occurring malignant tumor of the lymphoid hematopoietic system in the world. NHL comprises a large group of diverse lymphoid malignancies involving either the lymph nodes or extra nodal sites. It is more prevalent in males living in more developed countries over the age of 60 years.

Macrophage and Preeclampsia: Macrophage Polarization Imbalance at the Maternal‐Fetal Interface
The development and progression of preeclampsia (PE) are associated with immune‐inflammatory responses induced by placental dysfunction. The polarization imbalance of decidual macrophages, particularly the increase in M1 polarization, exacerbates placental inflammation.
