Re‐Examining Historical Trends of Tropical Cyclone Frequency
Abstract The short duration of high‐quality, reliable tropical cyclone (TC) observations limits our ability to detect long‐term trends. Here, we analyze TC frequency trends in the NOAA 20th Century Reanalysis (20CR) versions 3 and 2c over the 19th and 20th centuries.

Abstract Intertidal zones of the Ganges‐Brahmaputra (GB) delta are among the most active coastal environments worldwide, and quantifying their morphological evolution remains challenging due to rapid change and scarce in situ observations. This study presents a satellite‐based direct quantification of intertidal sediment volume change in the Meghna ...

Unprecedented Wetting Over Western Central Asia Dominated by Internal Climate Variability
Abstract Spring precipitation over western Central Asia (SCAP) experienced an abrupt and unprecedented wetting during 1988–2007, yet the relative contributions of external forcing and internal variability to this change and the underlying drivers remain unclear.

Abstract This study investigates climate drivers influencing interannual changes in the extratropical transition (ET) of western North Pacific tropical cyclones (TCs) during July–October from 1979 to 2024. We find a pronounced relationship between the fraction of TCs experiencing ET (ETTCs) to all TCs and the Polar‐Eurasia (POL) pattern.

Abstract The North Pacific eastern subtropical mode water (NPESTMW) connects the subtropics and tropics, influencing climate variability on interannual to decadal timescales. Using eight decades of ocean reanalysis, we show that the 11‐year solar‐cycle robustly modulates NPESTMW volume. NPESTMW formation is suppressed 1–2 years after solar maxima: high
