Plant species richness was greater in summer in both alpine and subalpine grassland ecosystems. Soil moisture demonstrates significant positive correlations with soil organic carbon and total nitrogen across seasonal periods. Microbial α‐diversity peaks during summer but maintains functional stability across seasons.

Herbaceous plant recovery following shrub clearing and reseeding in the rangelands of Peddie, Eastern Cape of South Africa. CTL, control; CO, cutting only; CR, cutting and reseeding; UPO, uprooting only; UPR, uprooting and reseeding. Abstract Background Shrub encroachment (SE) drives rangeland degradation, threatening biodiversity and forage ...

The Neutral Detergent Fiber Digestibility of Some Tropical Grasses at Different Stage of Maturity
The digestibility of neutral detergent fiber (IVNDFD) was determined by Telly and Terry methods in vitro on 5 tropical grasses species, Sorghum, Themeda, Iseilema, Brachyacne and Dicanthium.

ABSTRACT While watermelon is an important commodity in the United States and worldwide, some of the fundamental watermelon productivity indices (crop evapotranspiration [ETc], transpiration [Tr], evaporation [E], ET‐yield production functions [ETYPF], basal crop coefficients [Kcb], crop water productivity [CWP], soil‐water extraction [SWE]) have not ...

Future runoff in China shows strong regional and seasonal disparities, with the Southeast basin seeing the largest increase in annual runoff. Wetter summers and drier winters are expected in the south, whilst the northwest will face the opposite. Over 56% of regions are expected to experience more extreme high runoff, and over 40% face intensified low ...

Canopy height and its relationship with leaf area index and light interception in tropical grasses
Photosynthetically active tissues, mainly green leaves, are the major component of forage growth and development. The amount of these tissues in a forage plant is influenced directly by cutting management, i.e. cutting frequency and stubble height.

Dry–Hot Compound Events Driving the 2024 Pantanal Wildfires
Extreme wildfires in the Pantanal in 2024 were driven by a cascade of heatwaves, rainfall deficits and the absence of the annual flood pulse. These conditions dried soils and rivers, enhanced fuel accumulation and enabled early and intense fire outbreaks.
