Blue Light Receptor PHR2‐Mediated Spectrum Antiviral Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Blue light suppresses RBSDV through the blue‐light receptor ZmPHR2, which interacts with ZmISP in chloroplasts to trigger ROS burst and antiviral defense. The viral effector P6 enhances ZmPHR2–ZmISP interaction, alters their distribution, and suppresses ROS.

Current progress on pathogenicity-related genes in Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4

open access: yesPhytopathology Research
Vascular wilt, a disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4 (Foc TR4), is highly destructive to bananas. Identifying genes that contribute to the fungus's virulence is crucial for understanding its pathogenesis.

Using Mutation Breeding to Improve the Eating Characteristics of the Fusarium Wilt-Resistant Banana Variety, ‘Goldfinger’ (AAAB)

open access: yesHorticulturae
Banana production in Australia is under threat from Fusarium wilt Tropical Race 4 (TR4), and the option of growing a disease-resistant variety is sought after by many farmers.

Identification of sources resistant to a virulent Fusarium wilt strain (VCG 0124) infecting Cavendish bananas

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Bananas are vital for food security in many countries, and half of banana production relies solely on ‘Cavendish’ (AAA), which is presently threatened by the fungal pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc) tropical race 4.

Extreme Weather Events and Consumer Food Responses

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates consumer food responses to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, which affected a swath of the Southeastern U.S. in 2024. Using representative consumer survey data from six affected states, we analyze 10 distinct food responses classified into ex ante and ex post responses, and examine their associations with food insufficiency

DNA methylation patterns of banana leaves in response to Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2016
Fusarium wilt of banana, which is caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense tropical race 4 (Foc TR4), is a serious soil-borne fungal disease. Now, the epigenetic molecular pathogenic basis is elusive.

Genetic Variation in ADHD‐Related Risk Genes in an Indigenous Population of the Amazon

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Attention‐Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a highly heritable neurodevelopmental disorder; however, its genetic architecture remains poorly explored in Indigenous populations. This study aimed to analyze and characterize genetic variation in 11 genes (ADGRL3, CDH8, DCC, DUSP6, FOXP1, FOXP2, MEF2C, PCDH7, SEMA6D, SORCS3, and ST3GAL3 ...

Intensified Manufactured Non‐Belonging: Working Holiday Makers in Australia During the COVID‐19 Pandemic

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nations manufacture non‐belonging of temporary migrants through policy frameworks that produce exclusion. This precarity maximises the economic benefit of temporary migrant labour by minimising their political, social and legal rights. In this paper, we examine how non‐belonging targeting Working Holiday Makers (WHMs) is manufactured in ...
