FMO2 Promotes Angiogenesis via Regulation of N‐Acetylornithine
This study identifies flavin‐containing monooxygenase 2 (FMO2) as a novel proangiogenic regulator in endothelial cells. Targeted FMO2 ablation impairs vessel sprouting, whereas its compensation potently enhances angiogenesis. Metabolomics and single‐cell sequencing reveal that FMO2 drives vascular growth via the N‐acetylornithine/ATF3/NOTCH1 axis ...

Utility of B-type natriuretic peptide in predicting medium-term mortality in patients undergoing major non-cardiac surgery [PDF]
We assessed the ability of pre-operative B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) levels to predict medium-term mortality in patients undergoing major noncardiac surgery.

This study reveals that ARID3A in macrophages can transcriptionally regulate the THBS1‐CD47 axis after heart transplantation (HT), thereby inducing activated neutrophils to release NETs through the p38 MAPK signaling pathway. The itaconate derivative 4‐OI can inhibit ARID3A in macrophages and promote the accumulation of antioxidant factors, thereby ...

Factors underlying elevated troponin I levels following pacemaker primo-implantation
Background: Cardiac troponins are routinely used as markers of myocardial damage. Originally, they were only intended for use in diagnosing acute coronary syndromes; however, we now know that raised serum troponin levels are not always caused by ischemia.

We generated genetically stable iPSCs from HGPS patients using a nonintegrative Sendai virus method. This approach preserves cellular integrity, enhances disease modeling, and enables accurate study of Progerin‐induced cardiovascular dysfunction. Overall, it provides a reliable platform for understanding HGPS and aging‐related disease pathology and ...

Troponin I and myocardial injury in the ICU
Cardiac troponin I (cTnI) is a protein that is specific to heart muscle. Increased concentrations appear in serum after myocardial cell injury. cTnI was compared with creatinine kinase MB (CK MB), myoglobin and the 12-lead ECG for detection of myocardial injury in an unselected series of 109 medical and surgical ICU patients.
