Predictors of cardiac troponin release after a marathon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Objectives: Exercise leads to an increase in cardiac troponin I in healthy, asymptomatic athletes after a marathon. Previous studies revealed single factors to relate to post-race cardiac troponin I levels.

Generating golden Syrian hamsters with conditional alleles via zygote microinjection of CRISPR/Cas9

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
We established the first conditional knockout (cKO) model in the golden Syrian hamster by CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated genome editing. Cas9 protein, two sgRNAs, and a donor plasmid carrying loxP‐flanked exon 2 of the ApoF gene were microinjected into one‐cell embryos. The floxed allele was efficiently generated (up to 27%) and transmitted through the germline.

Photochemical cross-linking between rabbit skeletal troponin subunits. Troponin I-troponin T interactions.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1982
The heterobifunctional photoaffinity probe, AGTC (N-(4-azidobenzoyl-[2-3H]glycyl)-S-(2-thiopyridyl) cysteine), was attached to cysteines 48 and 64 of troponin I to determine which component of rabbit skeletal troponin was in close proximity to these cysteines.

Skeletal Muscle Biomarkers of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis: A Large‐Scale, Multi‐Cohort Proteomic Study

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Biomarkers with clear contexts of use are important tools for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) therapy development. Understanding their longitudinal trajectory in the untreated state is key to their use as potential markers of pharmacodynamic response.

Combination of Serum Neurofilament Light Chain and Serum Cardiac Troponin T as Biomarkers Improves Diagnostic Accuracy in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to evaluate the clinical utility of serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) and cardiac troponin T (cTnT) in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and assess whether their combination improves diagnostic accuracy. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 293 ALS patients, 85 neurodegenerative disease controls, and 29 healthy controls.

Increasing Serum Troponin I and Early Prognosis in Patients with Chest Pain or Angina Equivalent Symptoms in the Emergency Department [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Public Health, 2012
Background: The purpose of this research was to determine the relation between negative or positive qualitative troponin I test and the short term prognosis of patients presenting to emergency department with chest pain or angina equivalent symptoms ...

High-Sensitivity Cardiac Troponin I and B-Type Natriuretic Peptide as Predictors of Vascular Events in Primary Prevention

open access: yesCirculation, 2015
Background— Cardiac troponin and B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) concentrations are associated with adverse cardiovascular outcome in primary prevention populations. Whether statin therapy modifies this association is poorly understood.
