Troposphere delay modeling in SLR based on PMF, VMF3o, and meteorological data
Satellite laser ranging (SLR) requires accurate troposphere delay models to properly correct the observed distances to satellites and derive fundamental geodetic and geodynamic parameters.

Terrestrial Analogs to Titan for Geophysical Research
Abstract Saturn's moon Titan exhibits remarkable parallels to the Earth in many geophysical and geological processes not found elsewhere in the solar system at the present day. These include a nitrogen atmosphere with a condensible gas—methane—replacing the Earth's water, leading to an active meteorology with rainfall and surface manifestations ...

Abstract Since its observation in 2019, the first image of a super‐massive black hole using Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) with an Earth‐scale baseline has generated much scientific and public interest. Work is now underway to extend the baseline into space to obtain higher image resolution.

Empirical Modeling of Tropospheric Delays and Uncertainty
Abstract. Accurate modeling of troposphere delay is important for high-precision data analysis of space geodetic techniques, such as the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). The empirical troposphere delay models provide zenith delays with an accuracy of 3 to 4 cm globally and do not rely on external meteorological input.

An Adaptive Multipath Mitigation Filter for GNSS Applications
Global navigation satellite system (GNSS) is designed to serve both civilian and military applications. However, the GNSS performance suffers from several errors, such as ionosphere delay, troposphere delay, ephemeris error, and receiver noise and ...

Abstract The Madden–Julian Oscillation (MJO), a recurring intraseasonal (30–96 days) disturbance in the troposphere, strongly influences the E‐region and F‐region ionosphere through its modulation of atmospheric tides. Among these, the diurnal eastward wave number 3 (DE3) tide, driven by MJO‐modulated latent heating, carries MJO signals upward into the

The Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission offers new insights into submesoscale ocean processes. Realizing this requires careful consideration of other geophysical signals such as the signal delay induced by water vapor in the troposphere ...

Regional and Seasonal Effects of Geomagnetic Storms on Terrestrial Weather
Abstract It has long been a mystery why small Total Solar Irradiation changes have significant effects on Earth's climate. Solar cycle correlation studies abound but cannot conclusively point to a viable physical mechanism. Here, I show that geomagnetic storms have a profound terrestrial weather impact.

DNS (v1.0): an open-source ray-tracing tool for space geodetic techniques [PDF]
We have developed an open-source ray-tracing tool for space geodetic techniques. The software uses the geometric optics approximation to calculate the signal travel time delay induced by the atmosphere between two given points.
