The True Metabolizable Energy Values of Fats and Fat Mixtures

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1977
Abstract Two experiments were made in which the true metabolizable energy (T.M.E.) values of various lipid materials were measured. Several fats had T.M.E. values greater than their gross energy values which suggests that fats may interact to allow increased utilization of the energy of other dietary components. The observed T.M.E.

Assessing TiO2/Chitosan‐Based Hydrogels for Water Remediation: Sunlight‐Driven Degradation of Antibiotics in Water

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Chitosan–TiO2 composite hydrogels combine adsorption of organic pollutants with photocatalysis, allowing to remove 85% of a broadly diffused antibiotic (sulfamethoxazole) under direct sunlight irradiation, opening great promises for point‐of‐use, outdoor applications.

Determination of true metabolizable energy of raw and heat-treated Cassia tora seed meal

open access: yes, 2022
True metabolizable energy determination of raw and processed C. tora seed meal was undertaken. Fifty (50) arbor acre broiler chicks, reared to 10 weeks were used, out of which fifteen (15) birds were randomly selected for the trial.

Effect of Carrier on the True Metabolizable Energy of Corn Oil

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1981
Abstract The true metabolizable energy (TME) of corn oil was determined using both practical and purified carriers. When assayed with “high-fat” practical carriers (corn or mixed feed), the TME of corn oil averaged 9.21 kcal/g compared with a significantly (P≤.05) higher value of 9.66 kcal/g when assayed with “low-fat” carriers (soybean meal or ether-
