Trypanosoma cruzi ribosomal protein S4: characterization of its coding locus, analysis of transcripts, and antigenicity of the protein

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 2007
Two allelic genomic fragments containing ribosomal protein S4 encoding genes (rpS4) from Trypanosoma cruzi (CL-Brener strain) were isolated and characterized. One allele comprises two complete tandem repeats of a sequence encoding an rpS4 gene.

Immunocytochemical detection of DNA and RNA in endosymbiont-bearing trypanosomatids.

open access: yes, 2003
peer reviewedResearch about the kinetoplast of trypanosomatids has yielded valuable information about the organization of extranuclear structure. However, the ultrastructural localization of nucleic acids within these protozoa remains uncertain.

Use of monoclonal antibodies for differentiation of different isolates of Phytomonas (plant trypanosomatids)

open access: yes, 1989
The #Phytomonas# genus was created arbitrarily to designate plant trypanosomes. A serological study with polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies was carried out to situate these trypanosomatids with respect to other trypanosomatids - #Herpeiomonas ...

Telomere biology of trypanosomatids: beginning to answer some questions

open access: yes, 2007
Studies of telomere structure and maintenance in trypanosomatids have provided insights into the evolutionary origin and conservation of some telomeric components shared by trypanosomes and vertebrates.

Second-generation N,N′-disubstituted aliphatic diamines: discovery of potent hits for multi-species leishmaniasis treatment

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemical Biology
Kinetoplastid diseases remain a major global health challenge, highlighting the need for new antiparasitic chemotypes. N,N′-disubstituted aliphatic diamines have emerged as a promising scaffold against trypanosomatid parasites.

Ecology and biodiversity of heteropteran monoxenous trypanosomatids in CR

open access: yes, 2010
Order Kinetoplastida includes monoxenous trypanosomatids, the numerous and divergent group that parasitize versatile spectrum of insects. The most frequent hosts include heteropteran bugs and dipterans.
