Ecological aspects of South American Trypanosomiasis: VIII - Local domiciled and wild pattern of Panstrongylus megistus

open access: yes, 1977
Local pattern of domiciled and wild distribution of Panstrongylus megistus was observed through artificial and natural ecotopes investigation. The bug was found inhabiting periodomestic dwellings and hollow trees in the sylvatic environment serving as shelters for wild animals. This was mainly represented by spots of remaining forests.

Ecological aspects of South American Trypanosomiasis: XII - Regional variation of the Panstrongylus megistus domiciliary tred

open access: yes, 1978
The development of spontaneous colonies of Panstrongylus megistus in experimental fowlhouses showed regional variation with positive results in regions with an annual dry season, and negative ones in regions without this well-marked period. Beside this, the influence of the forest cover was suggested.

[Ecological aspects of South American trypanosomiasis. XV. Development, variation and permanence of Triatoma sordida, Panstrongylus megistus and Rhodnius neglectus in artificial ecotopes].

open access: yesRevista de saude publica, 1979
Spontaneous colonies of Triatoma sordida, Panstrongylus megistus, and Rhodnius neglectus developed in experimental fowlhouses were observed for the conditions for their development and the variation and permanence of their components. T. sordida colonization and dispersal is favored by open areas, mainly pasture lands where many dry trees remain as the

Ecological aspects of South American trypanosomiasis: XXI - Sylvatic triatominae behaviour related to the domiciliary and peridomiciliary environments

open access: yes, 1984

[Ecological aspects of South American trypanosomiasis. XX-- Development and annual cycles of Panstrongylus megistus colonies in artificial ecotopes, in peri- and extradomiciliary environments].

open access: yesRevista de saude publica, 1984
Spontaneous colonies of Panstrongylus megistus developed in experimental fowlhouses were observed for the conditions of their development, variation and permanence of their components. Data were also obtained on their annual cycles and survival. The annual cyclical rhythm showed an increase of adult production in the last quarter of the year, with a ...
