Evaluation of Modeling Assumptions for Predicting Structural Damage and Train Derailment Under Earthquake Loading

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 55, Issue 7, Page 1514-1532, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The rapid development of new railway networks and the aging of existing infrastructure in seismic‐prone regions continue to motivate the need for efficient methods to simulate the dynamic behavior of coupled train track structure systems. While detailed train–structure interaction (TSI) models can capture complex mechanisms, they are often too

Emergence of Fosfomycin Resistance Among ESBL‐Producing Escherichia coli in Abadan, Southwestern Iran

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aim Escherichia coli is a key pathogen responsible for various infections, such as urinary tract infections, gastroenteritis, and wound infections. The increasing occurrence of antimicrobial resistance, particularly in extended‐spectrum β‐lactamase (ESBL)‐producing strains, poses a significant global health threat.

The Occurrence and Morphology of Naturally Occurring Respirable Mordenite Mineral Fibres in New Zealand

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, Volume 69, Issue 2, June 2026.
Mordenite is a naturally occurring zeolite mineral that is the seventh most common zeolite mineral globally, forming at low temperatures (≥100°C) in hydrothermal systems. In New Zealand, extensive deposits of mordenite are commonly associated with areas of hydrothermal alteration, particularly in the Coromandel and Taupo Volcanic Zones.

Ultra‐Fine Electroblown Nanofibrous Air Filters Produced From Recycled Textile Polyester Waste: Process Optimization and Electret Stability

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 6, June 2026.
Textile‐derived recycled polyester waste is transformed into ultra‐fine nanofibrous air filters via statistically optimized electroblowing. Bead‐free fibers as small as 41 ± 14 nm are achieved, resulting in enhanced filtration efficiency, quality factor, and long‐term electret stability after corona treatment.

AI‐Powered Lesion‐Level Tumor Growth Inhibition Modeling Improves Model Stability and Prognostic Association With PFS

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST 1.1) is currently the standard for tumor response measurement, but it is time‐consuming, labor‐intensive, and subject to reader variability. Tumor growth inhibition (TGI) models built on RECIST datasets often consider the time‐course of all lesions as one aggregated tumor, as represented by ...

More Than Just Game Elements—A Taxonomy of Considerations for Gamification Projects and Research

open access: yesJournal of Software: Evolution and Process, Volume 38, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The field of gamification research lacks consistency regarding the naming and categorization of methods and concepts. It also shows inconsistencies in terms of which influencing factors are considered and reported. These inconsistencies hinder the retrievability and comparability of gamification studies and encourage criticism of the research ...
