Anticipating cosmetic emulsion stability using a novel multi‐analytical approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 48, Issue 3, Page 589-599, June 2026.
A novel combination of granulometry, turbidimetry and rheology enables early detection of cosmetic emulsion instability—reducing assessment time from 30 to 8 days. This rapid method distinguishes stable from unstable emulsions under identical conditions, offering a powerful tool for formulation screening and industrial quality control.

Cosmetic creams with caprylic acid‐based Natural Eutectic Solvents: Stability, rheology and user perception

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 48, Issue 3, Page 578-588, June 2026.
By formulating creams with caprylic acid‐based hydrophobic Natural Eutectic Solvents and assessing their stability, rheological behaviour and sensory properties, this study demonstrates how these systems can act as multifunctional, COSMOS‐compliant ingredients that modulate emulsion characteristics without compromising formulation properties.

Evaluation of a Clinical Risk Score for Preterm Necrotising Enterocolitis: The ‘Check‐NEC Score’

open access: yesJournal of Paediatrics and Child Health, Volume 62, Issue 6, Page 944-952, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aim Early prediction of necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) in preterm infants is important given its significant health, economic and social–emotional burden. We aimed to validate a clinical risk score (Check‐NEC Score [CNS]) for this purpose in preterm infants.

The Effects of Acute Sleep Deprivation on Cognitive Control Mechanisms Associated With Hallucinatory Experiences

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 35, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Sleep dysfunction can impair cognition and may play a causal role in the development of hallucinations. Deficits in cognitive control have been implicated in cognitive models of hallucinations. To better understand the underpinning role of cognition in the relationship between sleep and hallucinations, the current study aimed to investigate ...
