TSUNAMI WAVE PROPAGATION ALONG WAVEGUIDES [PDF]
This is a study of tsunami wave propagation along the waveguide on a bottom ridge with flat sloping sides, using the wave rays method. During propagation along such waveguide the single tsunami wave transforms into a wave train.

Tsunami propagation modelling – a sensitivity study [PDF]
Abstract. Indian Ocean (2004) Tsunami and following tragic consequences demonstrated lack of relevant experience and preparedness among involved coastal nations. After the event, scientific and forecasting circles of affected countries have started a capacity building to tackle similar problems in the future.

On generation and propagation of tsunamis in a shallowrunning ocean [PDF]
A theory is presented of the generation and propagation of the two and the three dimensional tsunamis in a shallow running ocean due to the action of an arbitrary ocean floor or ocean surface disturbance. Integral solutions for both two and three dimensional problems are obtained by using the generalized Fourier and Laplace transforms.

Tsunami Generation and Propagation
A linear theory is presented for waves generated by an arbitrary bed deformation {in space and time) for a two-dimensional and a three -dimensional fluid domain of uniform depth. The resulting wave profile near the source is computed for both the two and three-dimensional models for a specific class of bed deformations; experimental results are ...

The Propagation of Tsunamis [PDF]
Summary The passage of a seismic sea-wave, or tsunami, may be conveniently (I) the development of the disturbance in the area of generation, (2) the transmission across the ocean, (3) the changes occurring near a sloping shore (usually referred to as the “run-up” problem). The present paper deals with some of the hydrodynamical aspects of (2). Tsunamis

Tsunami Propagation in the Pacific Ocean
The Alaska tsunami of March 28, 1964, caused by a tectonic uplift, propagated across the Pacific Ocean and was even recorded at the shores of New Zealand and the Antarctica. The large distance propagation of this tsunami is investigated by a numerical model based on the shallow water equations.

Role of Compressibility on Tsunami Propagation [PDF]
AbstractIn the present paper, we aim to reduce the discrepancies between tsunami arrival times evaluated from tsunami models and real measurements considering the role of ocean compressibility. We perform qualitative studies to reveal the phase speed reduction rate via a modified version of the Mild Slope Equation for Weakly Compressible fluid (MSEWC ...

Hardware Acceleration of Tsunami Wave Propagation Modeling in the Southern Part of Japan
In order to speed up the calculation of tsunami wave propagation, the field-programmable gate array (FPGA) microchip is used. This makes it possible to achieve valuable performance gain with a modern regular personal computer.

Alternative Approach for Tsunami Early Warning Indicated by Gravity Wave Effects on Ionosphere
The rapid displacement of the ocean floor during large ocean earthquakes or volcanic eruptions causes the propagation of tsunami waves on the surface of the ocean, and consequently internal gravity waves (IGWs) in the atmosphere.
