On some aspects of tsunami waves

2010
We investigate the possibility of incorporating a background flow field in the mathematical modelling of tsunami waves, which is governed by the full euler equations and models isolated regions of non-zero vorticity.

Afterword: Tsunami or “Third Wave”?

2012
In their introduction to Religious Ethics in a Time of Globalism, Elizabeth Bucar and Aaron Stalnaker make the following statement: We see one of the contributions of comparative religious ethics to ethics more generally is to expand the range of the field. Tsunami relief. After the wave.

The Health service journal, 2005
With the official toll from the Boxing Day tsunami now standing at 300,000, Alexis Nolan and Emma Forrest talk to health service managers who gave more than money to the relief effort--they travelled to the disaster area and gave their time and expertise. The impact on their professional and personal lives was considerable.

Numerical modeling of tsunami waves

2013
This thesis provides a synthetic understanding and an extensive analysis on megathrust earthquake generated tsunamis, with emphasis on the application of numerical modeling. In the present thesis, the tsunami characteristics are first depicted as a special hydrodynamic phenomenon.

Tsunami Waves in Izmit Bay

2000
Based on eyewitness reports and run-up and inundation measurements, the tsunami generated after the Kocaeli earthquake had a period shorter than a minute and arrived a few minutes after the earthquake on the northern coasts and about a minute after on the southern coasts. The sea receded first along northern and southern coastlines of Izmit Bay.
