Magnetic coupling through flux branching of adjacent type-I and -II superconductors in a neutron star [PDF]
The inner and outer cores of neutron stars are believed to contain type-I and -II proton superconductors, respectively. The type-I superconductor exists in an intermediate state, comprising macroscopic flux-free and flux-containing regions, while the type-II superconductor is flux-free, except for microscopic, quantized flux tubes.

Real-Time Tube-Based Non-Gaussian Risk Bounded Motion Planning for Stochastic Nonlinear Systems in Uncertain Environments via Motion Primitives [PDF]
We consider the motion planning problem for stochastic nonlinear systems in uncertain environments. More precisely, in this problem the robot has stochastic nonlinear dynamics and uncertain initial locations, and the environment contains multiple dynamic uncertain obstacles. Obstacles can be of arbitrary shape, can deform, and can move.

The authors applied joint/mixed models that predict mortality of trifluridine/tipiracil‐treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients based on circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) trajectories. Patients at high risk of death could be spared aggressive therapy with the prospect of a higher quality of life in their remaining lifetime, whereas patients with a ...

Abstract Positron emission tomography with x‐ray computed tomography (PET/CT) is increasingly being utilized for radiation treatment planning (RTP). Accurate delivery of RT therefore depends on quality PET/CT data. This study covers quality control (QC) procedures required for PET/CT for diagnostic imaging and incremental QC required for RTP.

Martian Lava Tube Exploration Using Jumping Legged Robots: A Concept Study [PDF]
In recent years, robotic exploration has become increasingly important in planetary exploration. One area of particular interest for exploration is Martian lava tubes, which have several distinct features of interest. First, it is theorized that they contain more easily accessible resources such as water ice, needed for in-situ utilization on Mars ...

This study simultaneously investigated circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients. The elevated expression of JUNB and CXCR4 in CTCs was a poor prognostic factor for SCLC patients, whereas exosomal overexpression of these biomarkers revealed a high discrimination ability of patients from healthy individuals,

Image quality improvement in low‐dose chest CT with deep learning image reconstruction
Abstract Objectives To investigate the clinical utility of deep learning image reconstruction (DLIR) for improving image quality in low‐dose chest CT in comparison with 40% adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction‐Veo (ASiR‐V40%) algorithm. Methods This retrospective study included 86 patients who underwent low‐dose CT for lung cancer screening ...

Tumor microenvironment drives cancer formation and progression. We analyzed the role of human cancer‐associated adipocytes from patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) stratified as lean, overweight, or obese. RNA‐seq demonstrated that, among the most altered genes involved in the tumor–stroma crosstalk, are ADAM12 and CYP1B1, which were proven to be ...

Abstract Purpose To assess whether the joint application of hybrid iterative reconstruction (HIR) and an adaptive filter (AF) could reduce streak artifacts and improve image quality of neck‐and‐shoulder computed tomography (CT). Methods This study included 96 patients with suspicious neck lesions who underwent a routine nonenhanced scan on a 64‐slice ...
