Evaluating discrepancies between high‐yield neuroscience conditions in preclerkship medical education and national clinical incidence

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Medical education must balance foundational science with clinical relevance. Increasing emphasis on standardized assessments has led to prioritization of “high‐yield” conditions—those most likely to be assessed. Subsequently, educators and students often prioritize these conditions.

A workflow for 3D printing highly accurate, customized human skull models for anatomical education and clinical practice

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Our custom workflow creates anatomically accurate and diverse 3D skull models. Precise sex‐specific anatomical detail is ensured by CT‐based segmentation. Our models capture anatomical variations and pathologies. Our cost‐effective 3D printing workflow enhances model durability and fidelity.

Marginal Convergence Repair Technique for Partial Articular‐Sided Rotator Cuff Tears

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Partial rotator cuff tears present a common clinical challenge, and optimal management remains debated. This technical note describes an arthroscopic margin convergence repair technique performed without the use of suture anchors for patients with partial‐thickness rotator cuff tears.

Instantaneous Flooding and α-Tocopherol Content in Tuberous Roots of Sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.)

open access: yes
Compared to sub-irrigated sweetpotatoes (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.), periodic surface-irrigated plants, i.e., twice a week on root media, showed increased α-tocopherol content in their tuberous roots with no apparent changes in both of tuberous root ...

Augmentation of Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair Using Enthesis Interpositional Allograft and Minced Autologous Subacromial Bursa

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Multiple strategies for rotator cuff augmentation have been developed to promote tendon healing and decrease retear rates. Previously published techniques and clinical studies have primarily emphasized biologic adjuncts intended to alter the local healing environment at the repair site or structural reinforcement with grafts.

Hybrid Protective Sentinel System: A Combined Technique for Safe and Controlled Open‐Wedge High Tibial Osteotomy

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Open‐wedge high tibial osteotomy is an effective joint‐preserving surgery for medial compartment osteoarthritis but remains associated with 3 major intraoperative hazards: posterior neurovascular injury, lateral hinge fracture, and unintended slope modification.

Root hemiparasitism in Malania oleifera (Olacaceae), a neglected aspect in research of the highly valued tree species

open access: yesPlant Diversity, 2019
Malania oleifera (Olacaceae) is a valued tree species, mostly because its seeds have high precious fatty acid content (particularly nervonic acid). However, seedling mortality rates are often high and regeneration of this tree has been problematic, which

Arthroscopic Palmaris Longus Tendon Bridging for Augmented Repair of Bursal‐Sided Partial Thickness Rotator Cuff Tears

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract The management of bursal‐sided partial‐thickness rotator cuff tears remains controversial. Both transtendon repair preserving the residual tendon and conversion to full‐thickness repair yield satisfactory outcomes. However, treating bursal‐sided partial‐thickness rotator cuff tears with significant tendon retraction because of delamination is ...
