Some Naididae and Tubificidae from Central Africa
Hydrobiologia, 1974This first contribution to knowledge of Naididae and Tubificidae of Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua reports the occurrence of 17 forms. Of these, Nais communis, N. elinguis, N. pardalis, Dero digitata, Pristina longiseta, Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri and L.

A generic revision of the Phallodrilinae (Oligochaeta, Tubificidae)
Zoologica Scripta, 1992The generic classification of the subfamily Phallodrilinae (with a total of 252 species) is revised according to phylogenetic principles. Morphological character patterns are assessed under the principle of maximum parsimony, but due to the poor resolution and instability in the resulting cladograms, the analysis is supplemented with intuitive ...

Aspects of the phylogeny of the marine Tubificidae
Hydrobiologia, 1984A tentative phylogeny of the oligochaete family Tubificidae, with emphasis on the marine representatives, is presented. The scheme is based on the morphology and arrangements of prostate glands and the setal patterns. The rhyacodriline, more or less diffuse prostates are regarded as a primitive stage in prostate evolution, preceded only by the ...

The Production Biology of the Tubificidae (Oligochaeta)
1980Few estimates of production of aquatic oligochaetes have been made. Those that have vary considerably in methodology, the units employed, the values obtained where these can be compared, and sometimes in the concept of production used. Laboratory studies on pure populations may be unreliable.

ICZN rules—a farewell to Tubificidae (Annelida, Clitellata)
Zootaxa, 2008Morphological and molecular characters support that the former clitellate family Naididae Ehrenberg, 1828 is nested within another family, Tubificidae Vejdovský, 1876. To avoid paraphyly of the latter, it has been suggested that the two should be regarded as a single taxon.

Life-cycle and karyology of Branchiura sowerbyi Beddard (Oligochaeta, Tubificidae)
Hydrobiologia, 1984Data on the life-cycle of a population of Branchiura sowerbyi Beddard in a water-lily tank at the Botanical Garden in Padua are reported. The breeding period is from April to July, after which the reproductive system is partially resorbed (August-September) and reformed later in the autumn. The karyology of the species was also studied, and revealed 38
