The ERβ Agonist, OSU‐ERβ‐012, Mitigates Inflammation in a Chimeric Model of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesACR Open Rheumatology, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
Objective Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease characterized by multiple organ damage, affecting women between the ages of 15 and 45 years at a 9:1 rate as compared to men. The etiology of SLE is complex and elusive; however, the susceptibility of women during the years in which estrogen levels are at their highest suggests a ...

A BioLiving Periosteum Evokes Centripetal Regeneration in Challenging Bone Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 26, 8 May 2026.
Large bone defects often suffer from insufficient central healing. This study engineers a BioLiving periosteum that mimics the native structure. It sequentially delivers remote chemical cues and contact physical cues in a signaling‐relay manner, effectively recruiting and guiding endogenous cells toward the defect center.

Decoding the Cardiac Immune Microenvironment and Fibroblast Crosstalk in Radiotherapy Combined with Immunotherapy‐Induced Cardiac Fibrosis Based on Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
This study highlights that radioimmunotherapy drives crosstalk between fibroblasts and immune cells (especially macrophages) in the cardiac microenvironment, with IL‐6 as the key mediator, and tocilizumab alleviates cardiac fibrosis by targeting this interplay.
