Production of Tumor Necrosis Factor-Alpha in Patients on Hemodiafiltration
Nephron, 1992The systemic production of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha was evaluated in uremic patients before and after hemodiafiltration (HDF) and paired filtration dialysis (PFD) and in the interdialytic period. Both HDF and PFD were performed using polysulfone dialyzers with either standard or ultrapure dialysis fluid.

Engineering a Synthetic Ligand for Tumor Necrosis Factor–Alpha
Bioconjugate Chemistry, 2011One approach to prepare protein binding ligands is to join two low-affinity ligands that bind different sites on the target protein to create a high-affinity bivalent ligand. This typically requires some knowledge of the ligand binding site and requires exquisite orientation of the ligands in order to achieve maximum binding affinity. Here, we explored

[Tumor necrosis factor alpha. Biological aspects].
Giornale italiano di chemioterapia, 1989Human Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) is a multifaceted cytokine mainly produced by activated monocytes or macrophages. Several recent studies have shown that TNF-alpha can exert a variety of in vitro and in vivo effects including: modulation of normal and malignant haemopoiesis, antineoplastic activity, activation of neutrophils, induction of ...

Piezoelectric biosensor for the determination of Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha
Talanta, 2018Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNFα) is an important marker of inflammatory processes in human body. In the current healthcare, determination of TNFα blood or plasma level is done by Enzyme Linked Immuno-Sorbent Assay (ELISA) as a primary choice method. Piezoelectric immunosensors are analytical platform recording affinity interactions on their surface ...

Secretion of tumor necrosis factor alpha by testicular macrophages
Journal of Reproductive Immunology, 1993While it has been shown that culture medium from testicular macrophages can influence testosterone production when added to Leydig cells, the identity of the factor(s) responsible for this activity remains unknown. Since tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha) has been shown to be capable of influencing testosterone production by Leydig cells, a series
