Self-localization of laser induced tumor coagulation limited by heat diffusion through active tissue [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2001
We analyze the necrosis growth due to thermal coagulation induced by laser light absorption and limited by heat diffusion into the surrounding live tissue. The tissue is assumed to contain a certain tumor in the undamaged tissue whereof the blood perfusion rate does not change during the action.

Kappa B-type enhancers are involved in lipopolysaccharide-mediated transcriptional activation of the tumor necrosis factor alpha gene in primary macrophages

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1990
We have explored the cis-acting elements necessary for the LPS-mediated activation of the mouse TNF-alpha promoter by transfecting a set of 5' deletion mutants linked to the CAT reporter gene into primary bone marrow-derived macrophages.

Time‐Controlled Dual Targeting to Program Systemic and Intercellular Transfer of Therapeutic Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Aspirin‐liposomes loaded onto monocytes enable inflammation‐triggered targeting and efficient hand‐over of aspirin to inflamed cells. Monocytes uptake a significant portion of aspirin‐liposomes, prolonging therapeutic action. This approach enhances anti‐inflammatory effects through intercellular transfer, demonstrating a translational strategy for ...

Tumor necrosis factor alpha activates human immunodeficiency virus type 1 through induction of nuclear factor binding to the NF-kappa B sites in the long terminal repeat.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1989
Expression of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) can be activated in a chronically infected T-cell line (ACH2 cells) by a cytokine, human tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha).

Multifunctional Hydroxyapatite Coated with Gallium Liquid Metal‐Based Silver Nanoparticles for Infection Prevention and Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating integrated with silver‐gallium liquid metal nanoparticles (HAp‐Ag‐GaNPs) exhibits dual antibacterial and osteogenic properties. It effectively inhibits Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria, including resistant strains, while enhancing bone regeneration.

Tumor necrosis factor-alpha and interleukin-1 beta levels in children with bacterial, tuberculous and aseptic meningitis

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Pediatrics, 1997
Cerebrospinal fluid levels of tumor necrosis factor-alpha and interleukin-1 beta in 78 children with nonbacterial, bacterial and tuberculous meningitis, and in 34 control subjects were analyzed in order to evaluate the involvement of these ...

Adiponectin expression from human adipose tissue: relation to obesity, insulin resistance, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha expression.

open access: yesDiabetes, 2003
Adiponectin is a 29-kDa adipocyte protein that has been linked to the insulin resistance of obesity and lipodystrophy. To better understand the regulation of adiponectin expression, we measured plasma adiponectin and adipose tissue adiponectin mRNA ...

Double Cross‐Linked Hydrogel for Intra‐articular Injection as Modality for Macrophages Metabolic Reprogramming and Therapy of Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hydrogel for intra‐articular injection for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is formulated and comprehensively studied. After administration, the hydrogel induces a metabolic reprogramming of immunometabolism of macrophages to trigger fatty acid oxidation subsequently inducing polarization of anti‐inflammatory M2 macrophages. This results in

LEVELS OF TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR ALPHA IN PATIENTS WITH ISCHEMIC STROKE

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2019
Ischemic stroke is the most common form of brain stroke. It is associated with functional changes of various blood and bone marrow cell populations, altered release of various cytokines, chemokines, etc.
