New Insights on Heat Shock Proteins as Regulators of Reactive Oxygen Species Across Various Stressors in Diseases

open access: yesCell Biochemistry and Function, Volume 44, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Living beings are persistently challenged by stress. Stress can be induced by internal stressors and external stressors. External stressors, including radiation, heat, heavy metals, nutritional imbalances, infections, and psychological stress, can induce protein denaturation, leading to misfolded or aggregated proteins.

Spontaneous Perirenal Hemorrhage Mimicking Renal Rupture in a Long‐Term Hemodialysis Patient: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Spontaneous perirenal hemorrhage (SPH) and spontaneous renal rupture (SRR) are rare emergencies that can be radiologically indistinguishable when hematomas are large, especially in hemodialysis patients. We report a 53‐year‐old man on long‐term hemodialysis who developed acute left flank pain 19 h after low‐molecular‐weight heparin.

Cytological Features of Pancreatic Medullary Carcinoma Diagnosed by Endoscopic Ultrasound‐Guided Fine Needle Aspiration

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, Volume 54, Issue 2, Page E54-E58, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Pancreatic medullary carcinoma is an extremely rare tumor classified as a histological subtype of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Clonal Haematopoiesis in Type 2 Diabetes: A Review of Mechanistic Links With Inflammation and Cardiovascular Disease

open access: yesDiabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews, Volume 42, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Clonal haematopoiesis (CH) has been recognized as an important interface between chronic inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, and the heightened cardiovascular risk observed in type 2 diabetes (T2D). CH arises from somatic mutations that give haematopoietic stem cells a competitive advantage and drive the expansion of pro‐inflammatory myeloid ...

Bioactive Phenolic Compounds in Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Implications for Cardiovascular Health

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) is rich in bioactive polyphenols that exert antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and anti‐atherogenic effects. These compounds improve endothelial function, modulate lipid metabolism, and reduce platelet aggregation, contributing to cardiovascular protection. Regular consumption of phenolic‐rich EVOO, as part of a Mediterranean
