Evaluating virus-transformed cell tumorigenicity
Journal of Virological Methods, 1999The tumorigenicity of adenovirus (Ad) 12-transformed mouse cells was evaluated by analyzing the relationship of tumor cell dose to tumor incidence and tumor latency. The tumor producing dose 50% endpoint values used to define these relationships remained stable during 52 weeks of serial passage in tissue culture and were not determined by low frequency

Tumorigenic conversion of endothelial cells
Experimental and Molecular Pathology, 2003Tumors of endothelial origin develop rarely. Until now, only two angiosarcoma (AS)-derived endothelial cell lines have been be isolated, ISO-HAS and AS-M. Both AS-derived endothelial cell lines presented the typical endothelial characteristics, such as the expression of CD31 and von Willebrand factor, but differed from normal endothelial cells in a ...

Raman Spectroscopy and Factor Analysis of Tumorigenic and Non-Tumorigenic Cells
Applied Spectroscopy, 2002Raman spectra, measured for viable suspensions of M1 and MR1 cells, demonstrate spectral differences correlating with an increased protein and phospholipid content relative to DNA in the MR1 cells. The M1 and MR1 cell lines consist of rat fibroblast cells that have been transfected with a gene causing immortality, and the MR1 line has been further ...

Reversion of UVC-induced tumorigenic human hybrid cells to the non-tumorigenic phenotype
European Journal of Cancer, 1996Non-tumorigenic HeLa x skin fibroblast human hybrid cells were UVC-irradiated (10 J/m2) and induced to neoplastic transformation with accompanying morphological change and expression of the HeLa tumour-associated antigen, intestinal alkaline phosphatase (IAP).

Tumorigenic potential of endoperoxide analogs
Experientia, 1984The endoperoxide analogs known as U-46619 and U-44069 significantly enhanced the carcinoma formation and cellular atypicality initiated by a chemical carcinogen in mice. Studies of DNA radioactivity demonstrated that endoperoxides exerted their cocarcinogenic action by stimulating DNA synthesis.

Neonatal Mouse Tumorigenicity Bioassay
Drug Information Journal, 1998The International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) has suggested the use of the newborn mouse bioassay as an alternative tumorigenicity assay. There are sufficient data to conclude that this animal model is highly sensitive to chemical carcinogens that exert their action through mechanisms involving the formation ofcovalently bound DNA adducts ...

Pericellular Glycoproteins Organization in Tumorigenic and Non Tumorigenic Human Cell Hybrids
1984Abstract Expression of cytoplasmic and pericellular fibronectin (FN), laminin (LM), and type III procollagen (PCL III) was evaluated in a human cell hybrid obtained from human fibroblasts (FN + LM + PCL III + ) and HeLa cells (FN - LM ± PCL III - ) and in several derived segregant clones.
