Insights into PI3K/AKT signaling in B cell development and chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Review explores how the phosphoinositide 3‐kinase and protein kinase B pathway shapes B cell development and drives chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a common blood cancer. It examines how signaling levels affect disease progression, addresses treatment challenges, and introduces novel experimental strategies to improve therapies and patient outcomes.

Dermoscopy of Cutaneous Neoplasms in Skin of Color – A Systematic Review by the International Dermoscopy Society “Imaging in Skin of Color” Task Force

open access: yesDermatology Practical & Conceptual, 2023
Over the last few decades, dermoscopy has been showed to facilitate the non-invasive diagnosis of both benign and malignant skin tumors, yet literature data mainly comes from studies on light phototypes.

An endotoxin-induced serum factor that causes necrosis of tumors.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1975
In studying "hemorrhagic necrosis" of tumors produced by endotoxin, it was found that the serum of bacillus Calmette--Guerin (BCG)-infected mice treated with endotoxin contains a substance (tumor necrosis factor; TNF) which mimics the tumor necrotic ...

Ablation of LRP6 in alpha‐smooth muscle actin‐expressing cells abrogates lung inflammation and fibrosis upon bleomycin‐induced lung injury

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 6 (LRP6) is a key receptor for the Wnt antagonist Dickkopf1 (DKK1). DKK1 protein expression is induced in a bleomycin (BLM)‐induced lung injury model. We show that DKK1 induces proinflammatory and profibrotic genes in lung fibroblasts.

Emerging trends and research foci of oncolytic virotherapy for central nervous system tumors: A bibliometric study

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2022
BackgroundCentral nervous system tumor (CNST) is one of the most complicated and lethal forms of human tumors with very limited treatment options. In recent years, growing evidence indicates that oncolytic virotherapy (OVT) has emerged as a promising ...

Glomangiomyoma of the knee : a rare juxtasynovial presentation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Glomus tumors are benign tumors typically located in the subcutis or deep dermis of the subungual region of the fingers. Histologically, glomus tumors are divided into three subtypes, in descending order of frequency: solid glomus tumor, glomangioma and ...

Characteristics of the Kelch domain containing (KLHDC) subfamily and relationships with diseases

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Kelch protein superfamily includes 63 members, with the KLHDC subfamily having 10 proteins. While their functions are not fully understood, recent advances in KLHDC2's structure and role in protein degradation have highlighted its potential for drug development, especially in PROTAC therapies.

MEN1 Deficiency‐Driven Activation of the β‐Catenin‐MGMT Axis Promotes Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor Growth and Confers Temozolomide Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science
O6‐methylguanine DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) removes alkyl adducts from the guanine O6 position (O6‐MG) and repairs DNA damage. High MGMT expression results in poor response to temozolomide (TMZ).
