A Tunable Photosensor

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2008
A pyrene-modified beta-cyclodextrin (pyrenecyclodextrin)-decorated single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) field-effect transistor (FET) device was fabricated, which can serve as a tunable photosensor to sense a fluorescent adamantyl-modified Ru complex (ADA-Ru).

Tunable Filters with Extended Tunability

Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1992
Filters with extended tunability using waveguide devices are proposed. The first and second types of filters are combinations of a filter with a wide tuning range and a filter with narrow passbands. The first type is composed of cascaded filters and the second type is the filter with a wide tuning range embedded in a resonator.

Strain-Tunable Chemiresistor

Analytical Chemistry, 2010
We have developed a resistance-based chemical sensor (chemiresistor) for volatile organic compounds whose sensitivity can be reversibly increased over a range of nearly 2 decades by the application of tensile strain. This polymer-based sensor is comprised of Au-plated magnetic particles structured into conducting chains by the application of a magnetic

Tunable FBARs: Intrinsic vs. extrinsic tunability

2012 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2012
The methods used to make the Film Bulk Acoustic Resonators (FBAR) tunable is reviewed. Intrinsically tunable FBARs make use ferroelectrics in ferroelectric and paraelectric (non-polar) phases have tunabilities up to 5% and more. Extrinsically tunable resonators are based on traditional piezoelectric FBARs and make use of external varactors and ...

Tunable consistency in MongoDB

Proceedings of the VLDB Endowment, 2019
Distributed databases offer high availability but can impose high costs on client applications in order to maintain strong consistency at all times. MongoDB is a document oriented database whose replication system provides a variety of consistency levels allowing client applications to select the trade-offs they want to make when it comes to ...

Unprecedented Tunable Tetraazamacrocycles

Organic Letters, 2010
Novel nitrogen-bridged aza[1(4)]cyclophanes with fine-tuned cavities have been synthesized by nucleophilic aromatic substitution of 1,5-difluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene with diaminobenzene derivatives.

Tunable acoustic metasurface based on tunable piezoelectric composite structure

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2022
Due to the potential engineering needs, the passive tunable metasurfaces with a high performance equivalent to the active phased array is worthy of research. Here, a passive ultrathin metasurface unit composed of a piezoelectric composite structure (PCS) connected to an external capacitor, which can modulate the phase of the transmitted acoustic waves ...

Tunable Kernels for Tracking

2006 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition - Volume 2 (CVPR'06), 2006
We present a tunable representation for tracking that simultaneously encodes appearance and geometry in a manner that enables the use of mean-shift iterations for tracking. The classic formulation of the tracking problem using mean-shift iterations encodes spatial information very loosely (i.e. using radially symmetric kernels).
