Tunable dysprosium laser

Optics Letters, 2016
We report the demonstration of a tunable dysprosium laser. The experiment employed in-band pumping of a Dy3+-doped fluoride fiber and a simple resonator design involving a ruled diffraction grating. The laser produced tuning between 2.95 and 3.35 μm, limited by the availability of optics.

Tunability of Plasmonic Devices

2014
An overview on tunable plasmonic components for guided-wave applications in integrated photonic circuitry is provided. Emphasis is given on a series of electro-optically controlled plasmonic elements, variable attenuators, phase modulators, and directional coupler switches, based on the use of nematic liquid crystalline materials.

A Tunable Birefringent Filter

Applied Optics, 1966
A rotating-field phase shifter is described which permits continuous electronic tuning of birefringent filters over extended spectral regions. The use of such phase shifters reduces the conditions for tuning synchronism between all filter stages to a simple relationship between the electrical driving frequencies.

A tunable iodine laser

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1979
The tuning of an atomic iodine photodissociation laser over 11 wavenumbers is reported. The Zeeman effect is used to tune the laser, which is operated in a longitudinal magnetic field of up to 75 kG.

A Tunable Trifluoromethyliodonium Reagent

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2019
AbstractFour complexes of MCl4 (M=Ti, Zr, Hf) with the hypervalent trifluoromethyl iodine reagent trifluoromethyl‐1,3‐dihydro‐3,3‐dimethyl‐1,2‐benziodoxole (1,=L) are described. With TiCl4, an I−O bond cleavage occurs, leading to the formation of the trifluoromethyliodonium alcoholate complexes [Ti2Cl6(L)4]Cl2 (2 a) and Ti2Cl8(L) (2 b).

Tunable Aeroelasticity With Self-Tunable Composite Materials

AIAA SCITECH 2024 Forum
This paper reports the dynamic performance of novel aerospace structures with embedded multiphase materials with tunable stiffness and damping parameters. The proposed structures embedded multiphase materials exploit the thermal loads generated in high-speed fights to tune the stiffness and damping parameters, and thus, enable adaptive aeroelastic ...

Tunable Lasers in Ophthalmology

Ophthalmologica, 2010
The present status of laser application in clinical ophthalmology is breifly reviewed. The potentials of tunable dye lasers as retinal photocoagulators are discussed. Selective irradiation of ocular tissues over the full visible spectrum and the simplicity and reliability of recently developed waveguide lasers are the most attractive features of these ...

Tunable Bandpass Filter Using a Switched Tunable Diplexer Technique

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2017
In this paper, a new technique using two p-i-n diodes to switch between two channels of a tunable diplexer with constant return loss is proposed to design a tunable bandpass filter (BPF) with wide frequency tuning range (FTR). The used third-order tunable diplexer with two independently tuned channels consists of one common varactor-tuned lumped ...

Tunable survivable spanning trees

ACM SIGMETRICS Performance Evaluation Review, 2014
Coping with network failures has become a major networking challenge. The concept of tunable survivability provides a quantitative measure for specifying any desired level (0%-100%) of survivability, thus offering flexibility in the routing choice. Previous works focused on implementing this concept on unicast transmissions. However, vital
