Tunable dual-band terahertz metamaterial bandpass filters

Optics Letters, 2013
We report metamaterial terahertz (THz) bandpass filters with tunable dual-band selectivity. The shift in the center frequency of the device is achieved by actively modifying the effective length of the resonators. This was realized by introducing vanadium dioxide (VO2) bridges interconnecting specific regions of each resonator.

All-Fiber Acousto-Optic Tunable Bandpass Filter

Optical Fiber Communication Conference and International Conference on Quantum Information, 2001
We report a novel, 3.5 nm bandpass, zero frequency shift, all-fiber AOTF employing a single acoustic flexural wave to couple light from the core mode to a cladding mode (propagating past a core block) and back again to the core mode.

Tunable state-variable bandpass filter

IEE Proceedings G (Electronic Circuits and Systems), 1982
A simple method for tuning a state-variable bandpass filter over more than one octave without serious loss in the Q-value is presented. This is accomplished by modifying the input stage by adding one extra variable resistor. Analytical calculations show that there will be a 6% loss in quality factor over the tuning range.

Highly Tunable Narrow Bandpass MEMS Filter

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 2017
We demonstrate a proof-of-concept highly tunable narrow bandpass filter based on electrothermally and electrostatically actuated microelectromechanical-system (MEMS) resonators. The device consists of two mechanically uncoupled clamped–clamped arch resonators, designed such that their resonance frequencies are independently tuned to obtain the desired ...

Comparison of Tunable Microwave Bandpass Filters

2018 11th International Symposium on Communication Systems, Networks & Digital Signal Processing (CSNDSP), 2018
The development of software-defined radio and Radio-over-Fiber solutions for the future 5G systems necessitates the availability of small, cost-effective and tunable microwave filters. Possibility of integration is another requirement. As variable capacitance diodes are lossy in the millimeter wave (mmW) region, other solutions are utilized, e.g ...

ELECTRONICALLY TUNABLE MICROWAVE BANDPASS FILTER

1967
Abstract : An equivalent circuit of two orthogonal striplines coupled by a ferrite (yttrium iron garnet) sphere is derived, using the scattering matrix method. This derivation shows that a nonreciprocal phase shifter can be represented by gyrator networks. Based on this analysis, a YIG bandpass filter, electronically tunable over a very broad frequency

Tunable and programmable optical bandpass filter

Journal of Optics A: Pure and Applied Optics, 2007
We demonstrate a novel tunable and programmable optical bandpass filter with a transmission peak less than 5 pm wide that is tunable over 18.5 nm. The number of transmission windows within the stop band, as well as each window's position and strength, is set by applying a heat profile to a chirped fibre Bragg grating with the aid of a thermal printer ...

A Tunable Microwave Bandpass Filter

2019
A convenient prototype of a reconfigurable microwave filter is presented in this paper. The transmission on defined frequencies are achieved by tunable combined lines. The measured performance of a narrow-band reconfigurable band-pass filter is realized using diodes, capacitors, and a voltage sweep of DC feed.

Wideband bandpass filter with tunable passband

2015 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC), 2015
In this paper, a tunable wideband bandpass filter based on stub-loaded stepped-impedance ring resonator is proposed. By changing the characteristic impedances of the loaded stubs, the bandwidth of the passband can be controlled with the center frequency unchanged. The even-and odd-mode method is applied to obtain the expression of S11 and S21.

Tunable microwave fiber-optic bandpass filters

IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 1999
A new photonic filter which can realize both high-resolution bandpass microwave response and which is also widely tunable is presented. This is based on the use of long chirped Bragg gratings and a section of active fiber, and tuning is obtained by changing the carrier wavelength.
