Narrowband tunable photonic notch filter

Optics Letters, 2009
We propose a technique for realization of a high-contrast, tunable, low-insertion-loss notch filter using polarization selectivity of whispering-gallery-mode resonators. We demonstrate a 10 MHz filter with 5.5 dB insertion loss and 45.5 dB of in-band rejection. The measured rejection value is limited by the finite (3 kHz) linewidth of our laser.

A Tunable Rejection Filter

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1946
The theory and design of a tunable bridge-type narrow-band rejection filter are given for the general case, considering elements with dissipation. Range of adjustment and effect of manufacturing variations are discussed with the help of impedance circle diagrams.

Fast Electronically Tunable Filter Bank

MILCOM 2005 - 2005 IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2005
This article shows a new electronically tunable filter bank. The main characteristics are: wide frequency range, 6 to 18GHz, compact size and fast response within the temperature range of -40/spl deg/ C to 75/spl deg/ C. To achieve these objectives the filter bank is built using HMIC and MMIC technology.

Frequency-Tunable Tri-Function Filter

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2017
In this paper, we present a reconfigurable filter capable of having three different responses, such as bandstop, bandpass, and all-pass responses. For designing the tri-function filter, we have developed a new topology containing coupled resonators and a switch-embedded transmission line running from the input to output ports.

High-power tunable YIG filters

IEE Proceedings H Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 1981
High power tunable microwave filters can be made with ferrimagnetic materials by using coupled spin wave - electromagnetic wave modes of propagation which are decoupled from the processes that limit the power handling capability of conventional YIG filters. These novel filters can be used for spectral containment of transmitter emissions or as feedback

ELECTRONICALLY TUNABLE ACOUSTO-OPTIC FILTER

Applied Physics Letters, 1969
Experimental results on a new type of electronically tunable optical filter are described. Tuning from 7000 to 5500 Å has been obtained by changing an acoustic driving frequency from 750 to 1050 MHz. A band pass of less than 2 Å, a corrected peak transmission of 50%, and an average skirt rejection ratio of about 45 dB have been obtained.

Voltage tunable LiNbO_3 wavelength filters

Applied Optics, 1989
We describe here the design and operation of voltage tunable wavelength filters fabricated in titanium diffused LiNbO(3). The devices, based on the nonsymmetric interferometer, have channel separations of 11-31 nm at lambda= 1300 nm, and tuning rates of 3-10 nm/V.

Tunable Optical Filter

2005
A benchmark for the heat transfer problem, related to modeling of a tunable optical filter, is presented. It can be used to apply model reduction algorithms to a linear first-order problem.

Tunable HTS Filters

2002
Abstract : The tunable HTS program goals are to develop a process, method, or device to tune high-temperature superconductor (HTS) resonant circuits. The process for tuning should preserve the low-loss nature of the s preconducting resonant circuits and be compatible with the operating environment of packaged HTS RF circuitry.

Electro-Optic Tunable Filter

Optical Engineering, 1981
This paper describes the performance characteristics of an electronically tunable optical filter based on the electro-optic effect. Like the acousto-optic tunable filter, this device operates by selectively coupling principal polarizations in a birefringent crystal at a phase-matched wavelength by means of a spatially periodic refractive index ...
