Lever-Type Tuned Mass Damper for Alleviating Dynamic Responses
This study considers the structural vibration control by a lever-type tuned mass damper (LTMD). The LTMD has a constraint condition to restrict the motion at both ends of the lever.

Frequency-Based Control Strategy for Compact Electromagnetic Tuned Mass Damper
The control of harmonic machine-induced vibration has been a common task in the engineering scope. The passive tuned mass dampers represent the most reliable and practical approach to reduce such excessive vibration.

Advanced Seismic Retrofitting with High-Mass-Ratio Tuned Mass Dampers
Tuned Mass Dampers (TMDs) are traditionally employed in tall buildings to control displacements, typically featuring a low mass ratio. This study explores the potential of TMDs with significantly higher mass ratios for seismic retrofitting in existing civil structures, an area that remains largely unexplored.

Optimal configurations for a linear vibration suppression device in a multi-storey building [PDF]
This paper investigates the use of a two-terminal vibration suppression device in a building. The use of inerter-spring-damper configurations for a multi-storey building structure is considered.

Unusual Swelling Behavior of Hydrogels Modified with Spiropyran as Appendage or Crosslinker
Not so innocent after all—spiropyran crosslinkers in methylenebisacrylamide‐crosslinked poly(acrylamide‐co‐acrylic acid) hydrogels increase crosslinking density, but also, counterintuitively, increase swelling. Charge complexation, cooperative chemo‐mechanical effects, and aggregation may explain these observations.

Molecular Cross‐Linking of MXenes: Tunable Interfaces and Chemiresistive Sensing
In this study, Ti3C2Tx MXenes are initially functionalized using oleylamine ligands to form stable dispersions in an organic solvent. Subsequently ligand exchange with α,ω‐diaminoalkanes enables cross‐linking, along with precise tuning of interfaces. This structural control translates into tunable charge transport and responsive VOC sensing, showing ...
