Statistically Resolving Thickness‐Dependent Electrical Characteristics in Multilayer‐MoS2 Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A large number of MoS2 flakes were screened to obtain high‐quality flakes based on optical intensities in R, G, and B channel images. The flakes were classified from Level 1 to 6 based on optical intensities in the R, G, and B channel images. Low‐quality flake exhibited wrinkled, folded, or overlapped features, while high‐quality displayed a neat ...

Method of Fabricating Schottky Barrier solar cell [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
On a thin substrate of low cost material with at least the top surface of the substrate being electrically conductive is deposited a thin layer of heavily doped n-type polycrystalline germanium, with crystalline sizes in the submicron range.

Elucidating the Role of Surface Ligands on the Oxidative Etching of Au Bipyramids During Photothermia Using Liquid Cell Transmission Electron Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Gold bipyramids can act as efficient plasmonic nanoheaters, but they often reshape during laser heating. This study shows that oxygen nanobubbles drive oxidative etching and that surface ligands control stability. CTAB‐ and citrate‐coated particles blunt and lose optical performance, whereas polystyrene sulfonate preserves shape and heating by ...

The influence of tungsten carbide and boride additives on the structure and microhardness of CrFeNi equiatomic coating formed by short-pulse laser cladding

open access: yesFrontier Materials & Technologies
A coating based on a single-phase medium-entropy CrFeNi alloy with a face centered cubic structure has good ductility, relatively high anti-corrosion properties, low cost, but insufficient strength for its widespread use.

Achieving High ON State Current through Ferroelectric Polarization‐Dependent Interfacial Resistance Switching in Undoped Orthorhombic HfO2 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric tunnel junction devices based on epitaxial undoped ferroelectric HfO2 films demonstrate stable switching endurance of over 106 switching cycles, low write voltages of ±3 V, 16 measured resistance states, and neuromorphic capability.

Alloyed coatings for dispersion strengthened alloys [PDF]

open access: yes
Processing techniques were developed for applying several diffusion barriers to TD-Ni and TD-NiCr. Barrier coated specimens of both substrates were clad with Ni-Cr-Al and Fe-Cr-Al alloys and diffusion annealed in argon.

Laser Micro Sintering – A Quality Leap through Improvement of Powder Packing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Laser micro sintering, a modification of selective laser sintering for freeform fabrication of micro-parts, was continuously upgraded since its first application. Poor density of the powder layers has been a persisting problem that had to be dealt with

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

MXene/PEDOT Functional Coatings on Flexible Microelectrode Arrays for Multianalyte In Vivo Neurochemical Sensing and Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A MXene/PEDOT coating enables multimodal functionality and dual‐analyte detection of dopamine and serotonin in flexible microelectrode arrays while enhancing electrophysiological recording quality. The anti‐fouling, low‐impedance interface overcomes key limitations of conventional coatings, providing a robust and versatile platform to investigate the ...

Dynamic control of low-Z material deposition and tungsten erosion by strike point sweeping on DIII-D

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2017
Carbon deposition on tungsten between ELMs was investigated in DIII-D in semi-attached/detached H-mode plasma conditions using fixed outer strike point (OSP) positions.
