Shape effect of Co nanoparticles on the electric and magnetic properties of Co–SiO2 nanogranular films

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
Controlling the magnetic anisotropy of nanoparticles is a crucial but challenging step for developing new magnetic functions. Here, we demonstrate a simple approach to controlling the shape of Co nanoparticles in a Co-SiO2 nanogranular film from oblate ...

Negative tunnel magnetoresistance and differential conductance in transport through double quantum dots

open access: yes, 2009
Spin-dependent transport through two coupled single-level quantum dots weakly connected to ferromagnetic leads with collinear magnetizations is considered theoretically.

Theory for tunnel magnetoresistance oscillation

open access: yesPhysical Review B
The universal oscillation of the tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) ratio as a function of the insulating barrier thickness in crystalline magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) is a long-standing unsolved problem in condensed matter physics. To explain this, we here introduce a superposition of wave functions with opposite spins and different Fermi momenta ...

Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...

Omnipolar Magnetic Field Detection by Superlattice‐Based Hall Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐induced electronic switching is demonstrated in unit‐cell‐engineered La0.7Sr0.3MnO3–BiFeO3 superlattices. Distinct substrate terminations modify magnetic and transport properties. Hall resistance measurements show omnipolar, hysteretic anomalous Hall switching above the Curie temperature, arising from Fe─Mn interfacial exchange, enabling

Local spin valve effect in lateral (Ga,Mn)As/GaAs spin Esaki diode devices

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2011
We report here on a local spin valve effect observed unambiguously in lateral all-semiconductor all-electrical spin injection devices, employing p+ −(Ga,Mn)As/n+ −GaAs Esaki diode structures as spin aligning contacts.

Tunneling Anisotropic Magnetoresistance in Co/AlOx/Au Tunnel Junctions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We observe spin-valve-like effects in nano-scaled thermally evaporated Co/AlOx/Au tunnel junctions. The tunneling magnetoresistance is anisotropic and depends on the relative orientation of the magnetization direction of the Co electrode with respect to ...

Strain Engineering of Magnetoresistance and Magnetic Anisotropy in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Biaxial compressive strain significantly enhances magnetoresistance and critical saturation fields in thin flakes of the 2D magnet CrSBr, along all three crystallographic axes. First‐principles calculations link these effects to strain‐induced increases in exchange interactions and magnetic anisotropy.

Crossover from Positive to Negative Interlayer Magnetoresistance in Multilayer Massless Dirac Fermion System with Non-Vertical Interlayer Tunneling

open access: yes, 2010
We present a theoretical description of the interlayer magnetoresistance in the layered Dirac fermion system with the application to the organic conductor \alpha-(BEDT-TTF)_2I_3 under pressure.
