A review of the principles of turbidity measurement [PDF]
Turbidity of water due to the presence of suspended sediment is measured and interpreted in a variety of ways, which can lead to the misinterpretation of data. This paper re-examines the physics of light scattering in water, and exposes the extent to which the reporting of turbidity data is inconsistent.

Efflux‐mediated resistance compromises antibiotic efficacy, yet rapid detection remains elusive. This study presents a novel phenazinium‐based diagnostic molecule for quantifying bacterial efflux levels in Gram‐positive pathogens. The optimized compound enables precise, real‐time efflux assessment using fluorescence and colorimetric techniques ...

High momentum lepton pairs from jet-plasma interactions [PDF]
We discuss the emission of high momentum lepton pairs (p_T>4 GeV) with low invariant masses (M << p_T) in central Au+Au collisions at RHIC (\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200 GeV). The spectra of dileptons produced through interactions of quark and antiquark jets with the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) have been calculated.

The Flocculation of Turbid Liquids by Salts [PDF]
It has long been recognised that a trace of soluble salt will bring about the flocculation of the material suspended in a turbid liquid; and because of its bearing upon such practical matters as the clearing of drinking water, the deposition of silt at the mouths of estuaries, and the improvement of the texture of heavy soils, the process has received ...

High glucose‐ and acid‐responsive hydrogel with dynamic covalent bond solubilized with flavonoids (Gel‐Flavonoids) is designed for diabetic wound healing. The Gel‐Flavonoids adapt to irregular wound shapes and release antioxidants in high‐glucose environments, effectively reducing reactive oxygen species.

Conductive Polymer Coatings Control Reaction Selectivity in All‐Iron Redox Flow Batteries
Aqueous redox flow batteries are limited by the competing hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) at their negative electrodes. In this work, conductive polymers are conformally coated on porous carbonaceous electrodes to improve the reaction selectivity of hybrid all‐iron redox flow batteries.

Nanoemulsion stability: experimental evaluation of the flocculation rate from turbidity measurements [PDF]
The coalescence of liquid drops induces a higher level of complexity compared to the classical studies about the aggregation of solid spheres. Yet, it is commonly believed that most findings on solid dispersions are directly applicable to liquid mixtures.

This review explores how in situ and operando spectroscopic techniques reveal the real‐time behavior of reticular materials, including MOFs and COFs. These methods track material formation and functionalization, structural changes, defect formation, dynamic responses to external triggers, and catalytic processes.

Turbidity removal: Gravel and charcoal as roughing filtration media
Roughing filtration is an important pre-treatment process for wastewater, because it efficiently separates fine solid particles over prolonged periods, without the addition of chemicals.
