Preventing wall deposition in duct flows: The role of particle number density and flow direction

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Particle deposition in wall‐bounded turbulent flows is a challenge in many industries, including pneumatic conveying, filtration, and related applications. When particles accumulate near boundaries, they reduce transport efficiency, alter near‐wall flow structures, and cause blockage.

Updated facility‐level inventory and LCIA of the public electricity grid in Ontario, Canada

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract As the composition of Ontario's electricity grid will change over time, it is important to have a comprehensive understanding of the environmental impacts of Ontario's electricity grid as it stands today. However, publicly available information on impacts of Ontario's electricity grid is available only in aggregate from government sources.

Critical mineral removal from mining‐impacted waters using microalgal biomass

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Rising demand for critical minerals has led to increased mining and mineral processing activities, resulting in the release of metal‐contaminated waters requiring treatment. Conventional treatment methods, such as lime neutralization, effectively precipitate metals; however, they are less effective at low metal concentrations and produce large

The life and work of Ernest Sydney Keeping

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract This article reviews the life and contributions of Ernest S. Keeping (1895–1984), a British‐born physicist who became a mathematics professor at the University of Alberta in 1929. He played a pivotal role in shaping the university's Mathematics Department, serving as its head from 1954 to 1961, and continuing to teach until 1970, nine years ...

Advancing Strategic Alliance Commitment Under Sustainability Conditions: A Process‐Based Benefit–Risk Framework for NPD Alliances

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Strategic alliances frequently fail not because they lack value, but because firms struggle to sustain commitment over time. This challenge is especially salient in sustainability‐oriented and new product development (NPD) contexts, where interorganizational collaboration is widely promoted yet difficult to maintain.
