EXIT Charts for Turbo Trellis-Coded Modulation
IEEE Communications Letters, 2004In this letter, we extend the previously proposed extrinsic information transfer charts (EXIT) method to the analysis of the convergence of turbo codes to turbo trellis-coded modulation (TTCM) schemes. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through examples.

On the design of bit-interleaved turbo-coded modulation
Proceedings 2001 IEEE Information Theory Workshop (Cat. No.01EX494), 2002Bit-interleaved turbo-coded modulations (BITCM) have been shown to achieve bit error rate performance very close to the capacity limit over both additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels and Rayleigh fading channels. So far, most studies have been done on BITCM systems designed using rectangular QAM signal sets.

Turbo coding applied to pragmatic trellis-coded modulation
IEEE Communications Letters, 2000This letter reports the application of the powerful turbo coding technique combined with the bandwidth efficient method known as trellis-coded modulation (TCM). Implemented as a simple modification of pragmatic TCM, our turbo-coded pragmatic TCM system achieved coding gains of 1-2 dB in simulations relative to pragmatic TCM.

Combined turbo equalisation and block turbo coded modulation
IEE Proceedings - Communications, 2003The combination of equalisation and turbo decoded M-QAM is studied. In a system of block turbo coding based on iterative decoding of a product code, equalisation is incorporated in the decoding iteration loop. Most research in this area has considered the trellis equaliser. When using a high throughput modulation trellis equalisation is impossible. The

Non-Binary Turbo Coded Spatial Modulation
2013 IEEE 78th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2013Non-binary symbol transmission such as Ternary Phase Shift Keying (TPSK) and Hexagonal Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (HQAM) can achieve the superior performance to the PSK or square QAM in the band-limited and peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) limited channel due to its excellent natures of PAPR, spurious characteristic, and minimum Euclidean ...

Space-frequency-time turbo coded modulation
IEEE Communications Letters, 2001A new bandwidth and power efficient signaling scheme is proposed that achieves high data rates over wideband radio channels exploiting the bandwidth efficient OFDM modulation, multiple transmit and receive antennas and large frequency selectivity offered in typical low mobility indoor environments. Owing to its maximum transmit diversity gain and large

Combined multilevel Turbo-code with MR-modulation
Proceedings IEEE International Conference on Communications ICC '95, 2002Different concepts of iterative decoding algorithms for multi-dimensional coding, serial or parallel concatenated coding (called Turbo-code) as well as for the case of generalized concatenated coding schemes have previously been introduced. In order to achieve high performance expected by Turbo-codes and to assume a great flexibility, the present ...

Turbo Trellis-Coded Differential Chaotic Modulation
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2018In this brief, a novel turbo trellis-coded differential chaotic modulation (TTC-DCM) system is proposed, where parallel concatenated trellis codes are combined with the ${M}$ -ary differential chaotic shift keying ( ${M}$ -ary DCSK) scheme.

A nonpragmatic approach to turbo trellis coded modulations
2002 IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Proceedings. ICC 2002 (Cat. No.02CH37333), 2003A novel approach to combine turbo coding and high level modulation is introduced. Systematic trellis coded M-ary modulations are used as constituent codes. This scheme is a direct generalization to M-ary modulations of binary turbo codes. As a result, the whole iterative process is performed at M-ary symbol level.

Turbo trellis-coded spatial modulation
2012 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2012In this paper, a turbo trellis-coded spatial modulation (TTCSM) transmission scheme is proposed. In trellis-coded spatial modulation (TCSM) scheme, the information bits used to select the transmit antenna index are encoded. In order to increase the performances of the TCSM scheme, a parallel concatenated encoding scheme can be used. Therefore, the TCSM
