IEEE Communications Letters, 2004In this letter, we extend the previously proposed extrinsic information transfer charts (EXIT) method to the analysis of the convergence of turbo codes to turbo trellis-coded modulation (TTCM) schemes. A nonpragmatic approach to turbo trellis coded modulations
2002 IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Proceedings. ICC 2002 (Cat. No.02CH37333), 2003A novel approach to combine turbo coding and high level modulation is introduced. Systematic trellis coded M-ary modulations are used as constituent codes. This scheme is a direct generalization to M-ary modulations of binary turbo codes. As a result, the whole iterative process is performed at M-ary symbol level.

Turbo coding applied to pragmatic trellis-coded modulation
IEEE Communications Letters, 2000This letter reports the application of the powerful turbo coding technique combined with the bandwidth efficient method known as trellis-coded modulation (TCM). Implemented as a simple modification of pragmatic TCM, our turbo-coded pragmatic TCM system achieved coding gains of 1-2 dB in simulations relative to pragmatic TCM.
