Symbol-Interleaver Design for Turbo Trellis-Coded Modulation

IEEE Communications Letters, 2004
A design method for a code-matched symbol-interleaver for turbo trellis-coded modulation is proposed. The method constructs an interleaver by code matched criteria to eliminate some input error events of low symbol Hamming weight (SHW) sequences of the code which can produce low SHW codewords.

VLSI-implementation issues of turbo trellis-coded modulation

2003 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003. Proceedings. (ICASSP '03)., 2003
Turbo trellis-coded modulation (TTCM) is a very promising approach for future communication systems. It combines the advantages of channel coding with multilevel signals and the powerful turbo-codes concept. In this paper we consider VLSI implementation aspects of TTCM.

Turbo trellis-coded spatial modulation

2012 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2012
In this paper, a turbo trellis-coded spatial modulation (TTCSM) transmission scheme is proposed. In trellis-coded spatial modulation (TCSM) scheme, the information bits used to select the transmit antenna index are encoded. In order to increase the performances of the TCSM scheme, a parallel concatenated encoding scheme can be used. Therefore, the TCSM

Turbo Trellis Coded hierarchical modulation for cooperative communications

2013 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2013
A cooperative communication system assisted by Turbo Trellis-Coded Modulation (TTCM) relying on Hierarchical Modulation (HM) is proposed, which invokes iterative soft decoding. Our results demonstrated that the performance of the single-relay aided cooperative system can be improved by at least 4 dB at a BER of 10−5.

Extensions of turbo trellis coded modulation to high bandwidth efficiencies

Proceedings of ICC'97 - International Conference on Communications, 2002
We extend turbo trellis coded modulation (TTCM) with punctured component codes to allow higher bandwidth efficiency. Two techniques, that can also be combined, were investigated that achieve this: the inclusion of uncoded bits in TTCM in conjunction with high order modulation (e.g.

Turbo trellis coded modulation for fading channels

VTC2000-Spring. 2000 IEEE 51st Vehicular Technology Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37026), 2002
The paper presents new power and bandwidth efficient coding schemes that combine turbo codes with M-QAM modulation for fading channels. In the encoder, each group of information bits is associated with its parity check symbol which is alternately obtained from the first and second turbo component encoders.

Interblock memory for turbo trellis coded modulation

2010 6th International Symposium on Turbo Codes & Iterative Information Processing, 2010
This paper presents a turbo trellis coded modulation (TTCM) scheme for which the encoding is implemented by serially concatenating a demultiplexer, a multilevel delay processor, and a signal mapper to the encoder of a binary turbo code. Through the delay processor and the signal mapper, interblock memory is introduced between consecutive binary turbo ...

Turbo Trellis Coded Modulation Schemes

2000
The effectiveness of trellis coded modulation (TCM) techniques, proposed by Ungerboeck in 1982 [1], for communication over bandwidth limited channels is well established. TCM schemes have been applied to telephone, satellite and microwave digital radio channels, where coding gains of the order of 3-6dB are obtained with no loss of bandwidth or data ...

Turbo trellis code modulation using MQAM

Journal of Electronics (China), 2002
The paper presents a kind of reasonable structure for implementing MQAM T-TCM based on the principles of turbo codes and TCM for the first time. It can also be expanded to PSK T-TCM system, and the corresponding decoding algorithm is derived. By computer simulation, its performance is analyzed.

Recursive space-time trellis codes for turbo coded modulation

Globecom '00 - IEEE. Global Telecommunications Conference. Conference Record (Cat. No.00CH37137), 2002
Space-time coding schemes are focused on merging antenna diversity with appropriate channel coding in order to exploit benefits of spatial and temporal diversity. We propose the concept of recursive space-time trellis codes for parallel-concatenated space-time turbo coded modulation.
