ABSTRACT Background Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are at risk of severe outcomes from SARS‐CoV‐2 (SCV2). In the post‐pandemic context, where most children have been infected with SCV2, there are limited data on whether vaccination remains beneficial in children with ALL.

ABSTRACT Immune effector cell‐associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis‐like syndrome (IEC‐HS) is a life‐threatening hyperinflammatory toxicity distinct from cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and neurotoxicity following chimeric antigen receptor T‐cell (CAR‐T) therapy. In a single‐institution retrospective cohort of pediatric and young adult patients

Numerical simulations of drag modulation by microbubbles in a turbulent Taylor-Couette flow [PDF]
The aim of our study is to investigate numerically the interaction between a dispersed phase composed of microbubbles and a turbulent Taylor-Couette flow (flow within the gap between two cylinders).

ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Numerical investigation of turbulent flow heat transfer and pressure drop of AL2O3/water nanofluid in helically coiled tubes [PDF]
Passive convective heat transfer enhancement can be achieved by improving the thermo-physical properties of the working fluid, changing flow geometry or both.

Large-Scale Flow Structure in Turbulent Poiseuille Flows at Low-Reynolds Numbers
Direct numerical simulations of a spectral method are performed to study the turbulent channel flow at the low-Reynolds numbers, where the quasi-laminar and turbulent regions simultaneously appear and form the stripe pattern, which is floated downstream ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Direct numerical simulation of a turbulent flow using a spectral/hp element method
Direct numerical simulation (DNS) of incompressible turbulent pipe flow was carried out on unstructured grids for a Reynolds number based on the friction velocity and the pipe diameter of Re τ = 360 using the spectral/hp element method (SEM) by ...
