Multiobjective Optimization of Hydrogen‐Assisted Calophyllum inophyllum Biodiesel Operation in a Compression Ignition Engine

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 6, Page 2897-2929, June 2026.
Tri‐fuel diesel–Calophyllum inophyllum biodiesel–hydrogen operation was tested over 96 points in a diesel engine. Eight performance and emission metrics feed a preference‐agnostic Bootstrapped Empirical Multiobjective Ranking and Selection methodology, revealing load‐blend‐hydrogen windows that increase efficiency, restrain smoke, and expose NOx trade ...

Experimental investigation on the effect of compression ratio on detonation combustion characteristics of active pre-chamber engine

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Turbulent Jet Ignition (TJI) engines show promising potential for enhancing engine efficiency. However, they differ significantly from conventional spark ignition engines in terms of in-cylinder combustion modes, rendering traditional detonation ...

Direct Initiation of Detonation by Ignition Tube

open access: yes, 2004
Experiments of direct initiation of hydrogen-oxygen by means of a hot turbulent jet were made. Results indicate that the length of ignition tube is the dominant factor in determining the ignition capability of hot turbulent jet, and that the ignition ...

Evaluation of Storage Conditions and Pre‐Treatment Methods to Mitigate Aflatoxin Contamination in Commonly Used Chinese Herbal Medicines

open access: yesPhytochemicals in Food and Medicine, Volume 1, Issue 2, June 2026.
High temperature and humidity significantly promote aflatoxin contamination in herbal medicines. This research demonstrates that drying, vacuum packaging, and sulfur fumigation are effective strategies to minimize contamination and extend shelf life, whereas UV exposure proves ineffective for decontamination.

The Influence of Helium Addition on the Combustion Process in a Hydrogen-Fueled Turbulent Jet Ignition Engine

open access: yesApplied Sciences
There are considerably fewer requirements for the quality of hydrogen combusted in an engine than its quality for fuel cells. Therefore, the analysis was carried out on the combustion of hydrogen–helium mixtures in an engine with a two-stage combustion ...

Hydroxyl‐Terminated Polybutadiene‐Based Molding Powders as an Alternative Route for Manufacturing Pressed Polymer‐Bonded Explosives

open access: yesPropellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, Volume 51, Issue 6, Page 955-965, June 2026.
This study presents an alternative method to manufacture polymer‐bonded explosives by partially curing an HTPB‐based molding powder prior to compaction. The study shows that the length of partial cure time before compaction directly influenced the geometric fidelity, homogeneity, compressive strength, density, and internal microstructure.

Simulations of edge-flame propagation in turbulent non-premixed jets

open access: yes, 2007
Ignition, flame propagation and stabilisation have been simulated and analysed in a turbulent jet of non-premixed methane and air. The first order Conditional Moment Closure (CMC) turbulent combustion model was fully coupled with a Reynolds-Averaged ...

A Comparative Evaluation of Carbonaceous and Alloy Type Anodes for Sodium‐Ion Batteries: Capacity, Scalability, and Sustainability Perspectives

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 31, 2 June 2026.
This review critically compares the electrochemical performance of carbon‐based and alloy‐type anodes for sodium‐ion batteries, with an emphasis on strategies that enhance practical deployment. It highlights how synergistic optimization of microstructure, electrolyte, and presodiation improves hard carbon, while nanostructuring and interfacial ...
