THE TURBULENT MAGNETIC PRANDTL NUMBER OF MHD TURBULENCE IN DISKS [PDF]
The magnetic Prandtl number Pr_M is the ratio of viscosity to resistivity. In astrophysical disks the diffusion of angular momentum (viscosity) and magnetic fields (resistivity) are controlled by turbulence. Phenomenological models of the evolution of large scale poloidal magnetic fields in disks suggest that the turbulent magnetic Prandtl number Pr_{M,

A New Anisotropic Four-Parameter Turbulence Model for Low Prandtl Number Fluids
Due to their interesting thermal properties, liquid metals are widely studied for heat transfer applications where large heat fluxes occur. In the framework of the Reynolds-Averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) approach, the Simple Gradient Diffusion Hypothesis (

Two-loop calculation of the turbulent Prandtl number [PDF]
The turbulent Prandtl number has been calculated in the two-loop approximation of the $\eps$ expansion of the stochastic theory of turbulence. The strikingly small value obtained for the two-loop correction explains the good agreement of the earlier one-loop result with the experiment.

This experiment used a parallel array of hot wire probes to simultaneously measure the temperature and velocity fields in the non-isothermal turbulent boundary layer of a rotating straight channel. The Reynolds numbers are 15,000 and 25,000, respectively.

Turbulent Transport in a Stratified Shear Flow
Within the framework of the theory of unsteady turbulent flows in a stratified fluid, a new parameterization of the turbulent Prandtl number is proposed.

The effect of Prandtl number on turbulent sheared thermal convection [PDF]
In turbulent wall sheared thermal convection, there are three different flow regimes, depending on the relative relevance of thermal forcing and wall shear.

Prandtl-number dependence of convection-driven dynamos in rotating spherical fluid shells [PDF]
The value of the Prandtl number P exerts a strong influence on convection-driven dynamos in rotating spherical shells filled with electrically conducting fluids.

The anisotropy of low prandtl number turbulent convection [PDF]
A model for homogeneous anisotropic incompressible turbulence is proposed. The model generalizes the GISS model of homogeneous isotropic turbulence; the generalization involves the solution of the GISS equations along a set of integration paths in wavenumber (k-) space.

In the simple gradient diffusion hypothesis, the turbulent Prandtl number (Prt) with a constant of 0.85 is difficult to accurately predict for liquid metals having low Prandtl numbers (Pr), while a four-equation model can improve this solution by ...
