Effect of Shift in Speed Turning on Machined Surface Quality

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2017
This article describes the evaluation of machined material roughness in speed turning on a machining centre Doosan Puma 700 LY. The machined surface of semi-finished products from steel 14 260 was compared at selected cutting conditions.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Guanine nucleotide exchange factors for Rho GTPases: turning on the switch.

open access: yesGenes & Development, 2002
Rho GTPases control many aspects of cell behavior through the regulation of multiple signal transduction pathways (Van Aelst and D’Souza-Schorey 1997; Hall 1998).

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

"Spatial Turn", Spatial Turne, geographical turn

open access: yes, 2021
The book "Mouvements de géographie" describes the shifts in the discourse of geography in France and, to a lesser extent, in the French-speaking world over the past two decades. With an epistemological focus, the book attempts to measure the performativity of transdisciplinary turns on the "disciplinary culture" specific to a cognitive universe in ...

Emergence of collective changes in travel direction of starling flocks from individual birds fluctuations

open access: yes, 2014
One of the most impressive features of moving animal groups is their ability to perform sudden coherent changes in travel direction. While this collective decision can be a response to an external perturbation, such as the presence of a predator, recent ...

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...
