Incubating Ideas: A Typology of Design Thinking Academic Centers in American Higher Education

open access: yesNew Directions for Higher Education, Volume 2025, Issue 212, Page 41-51, Winter 2025.
ABSTRACT Twenty years after the founding of the Hasso–Plattner Institute of Design (the d.School) at Stanford University, a wide range of academic centers and institutes have been established to prioritize innovation, creativity, and design thinking. This qualitative study presents a typology of these centers across the United States, drawing on “About

Establishing a Provenance Framework for Sandstones in the Greenland–Norway Rift from the Composition of Moraine/Outwash Sediments

open access: yesGeosciences, 2022
The crystalline basement and Caledonian orogenic belt of East Greenland between 70 and 78° N are divided into five source regions on the basis of heavy mineral assemblages, mineral geochemistry, and isotopic age data from 42 modern moraine/outwash ...

A Possible Massive Asteroid Belt Around zeta Lep

open access: yes, 2001
We have used the Keck I telescope to image at 11.7 microns and 17.9 microns the dust emission around zeta Lep, a main sequence A-type star at 21.5 pc from the Sun with an infrared excess. The excess is at most marginally resolved at 17.9 microns.

Whole‐genome sequencing bulked segregant analysis uncovered FW7, a Fusarium wilt resistance gene masked by epistasis in octoploid strawberry

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 18, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Fusarium wilt, a vascular disease of strawberry (Fragaria ×$\times$ ananassa) caused by the soilborne fungal pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. fragariae, has emerged over the past 20 years as a leading cause of severe plant wilt and death in California and many other parts of the world. We previously described several sources of resistance to

[(1,2,5,6-η)-Cycloocta-1,5-diene](1-ethyl-3-isopropyl-1,3-imidazol-2-ylidene-κC2)(triphenylphosphane-κP)iridium(I) tetrafluoridoborate

open access: yesIUCrData, 2017
In the title compound, [Ir(C8H12)(C8H14N2)(C18H15P)]BF4, the cationic complex has the anticipated square-planar geometry. The asymmetric unit comprises the iridium complex and one tetrafluoridoborate anion.

Six‐pattern p53 interpretation in 1293 vulvar squamous cell carcinomas: inter‐pathologist variation and pattern distribution according to p16 status

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 87, Issue 6, Page 815-826, December 2025.
Six‐pattern immunohistochemical p53 assessment of 1,293 vulvar squamous cell carcinomas by eight pathologists showed 66.7% concordance across all six patterns, increasing to 86.9% when dichotomized to wild‐type versus mutated. The high interobserver agreement supports the clinical robustness of the six‐pattern p53 framework, with most discrepancies ...

fluxible: An R package to process ecosystem gas fluxes from closed‐loop chambers in an automated and reproducible way

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 11, Page 2560-2568, November 2025.
Abstract Measuring ecosystem gas fluxes is crucial to understanding the dynamics of ecosystem water and energy cycling. A common method to measure ecosystem gas fluxes (CO2, CH4, N2O) and to compare experimental treatments is the use of closed‐loop chambers.
