Twist-joints and double twist-joints in RNA structure [PDF]
Analysis of available RNA crystal structures has allowed us to identify a new family of RNA arrangements that we call double twist-joints, or DTJs. Each DTJ is composed of a double helix that contains two bulges incorporated into different strands and separated from each other by 2 or 3 bp.

The optical response of artificially twisted MoS $$_2$$ 2 bilayers
Two-dimensional layered materials offer the possibility to create artificial vertically stacked structures possessing an additional degree of freedom—the interlayer twist.

Order and Frustration in Chiral Liquid Crystals [PDF]
This paper reviews the complex ordered structures induced by chirality in liquid crystals. In general, chirality favors a twist in the orientation of liquid-crystal molecules. In some cases, as in the cholesteric phase, this favored twist can be achieved

Higher Twist Structure Functions [PDF]
I discuss the importance of some of the higher twist structure functions, and then calculate the twist-two, three and four parton distribution functions involving two quark unpolarized correlations using the wavefunction of the MIT bag model.

Hodge structure on twisted cohomologies and twisted Riemann inequalities I [PDF]
AbstractWe show the twisted cohomology onhas a natural polarized Hodge structure and hence derive the analogues of Riemann’s equality and inequailty.

Tunable Electronic Structure in Twisted Bilayer WTe2
The moiré pattern restricts the electronic states of transition metal bilayers, thus extending the concept of the magic angle found in twisted bilayer graphene to semiconductors.

Novel structural design method inspired by DNA and origami
In chiral metamaterials, the twist per axial strain (TPAS) is an important index to evaluate the tension-torsion coupling effect. Most chiral structures reported in current literatures have the appearance of lattice architectures, which possess limited ...

Twistronics: Manipulating the electronic properties of two-dimensional layered structures through their twist angle [PDF]
The ability in experiments to control the relative twist angle between successive layers in two-dimensional (2D) materials offers an approach to manipulating their electronic properties; we refer to this approach as ``twistronics.'' A major challenge to ...
