Formability of curved multilayer laminates via 3D printing using twisted continuous fiber composites

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
3D printers can print free-form 3D shapes; however, their mechanical properties are unsatisfactory. 3D printers can print 3D shapes freely but the resulting products exhibit unsatisfactory mechanical properties.

Geometric Langlands Twists of N = 4 Gauge Theory from Derived Algebraic Geometry

open access: yes, 2018
We develop techniques for describing the derived moduli spaces of solutions to the equations of motion in twists of supersymmetric gauge theories as derived algebraic stacks. We introduce a holomorphic twist of N=4 supersymmetric gauge theory and compute

Long-wavelength torsional modes of solar coronal plasma structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Aims. We consider the effects of the magnetic twist and plasma rotation on the propagation of torsional m = 0 perturbations of cylindrical plasma structures (straight magnetic flux tubes) in the case when the wavelength is much longer than the cylinder ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Polarization dependent light propagation in $$\textrm{WTe}_2$$ WTe 2 multilayer structure

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
$$\textrm{WTe}_2$$ WTe 2 is one of the exciting and outstanding semimetallic members of TMDCs, which has attracted immense attention for manipulating light propagation due to its inherent optical anisotropy and hyperbolic characteristic in the infrared ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Impact of Weft Yarn Structure and Fiber Type on Weft Yarn Velocity and Twist Loss in Air-Jet Weaving: A Critical Review

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers
Air-jet weaving is an innovative weaving technique that uses friction between the yarn surface and air stream to propel the weft yarn. The interaction between the yarn surface and air is complex and affects weft yarn motion.

Chirality in Liquid Crystals: from Microscopic Origins to Macroscopic Structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Molecular chirality leads to a wonderful variety of equilibrium structures, from the simple cholesteric phase to the twist-grain-boundary phases, and it is responsible for interesting and technologically important materials like ferroelectric liquid ...

Twisted EM beams with structured correlations

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2018
The possibility of restructuring the spectral density of a random light beam up to three times along the propagation path in free space is demonstrated. This can be achieved by prescribing special correlations and different twist factors (by magnitude and/or direction) in the two mutually orthogonal electric field components in the source plane.
