This article presents a novel closed‐loop controlled laser‐based heat treatment (LB‐HT) using temperature feedback to reduce thermally induced residual stresses (RS) within AlSi10Mg laser powder bed fusion components. The results demonstrate that LB‐HT efficiently reduces near‐surface RS from 158 to 5 N mm−2, achieving a part displacement reduction up ...

Mechanical Energy Dissipation During Seismic Dynamic Weakening in Calcite‐Bearing Faults
Abstract Earthquakes are frictional instabilities caused by the shear stress decrease, that is, dynamic weakening, of faults with slip and slip rate. During dynamic weakening, shear stress depends on slip, slip rate, and temperature, according to constitutive laws governing the earthquake rupture process.

The phase transition of SnSe from Pnma to Fm‐3m is realized by tailoring the chemical bonds. All the dopants that drive the phase transition prevail in a well‐defined region of a chemical bonding map. While the Pnma SnSe utilizes covalent bonding, the Fm‐3m SnSe employs metavalent bonding.
