On Nonlinear Motions of Two-Degree-of-Freedom Nonlinear Systems with Repeated Linearized Natural Frequencies

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2019
In this paper, we investigate systematically the vibration of a typical 2DOF nonlinear system with repeated linearized natural frequencies. By application of Descartes’ rule of signs, we demonstrate that there are 14 types of roots describing different modal motions for varying nonlinear parameters.

Construction and multi-mode motion analysis of single-degree-of-freedom four-bar multi-mode planar mechanisms based on singular configuration

Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics
The single-degree-of-freedom four-bar multi-mode planar mechanism (MMPM) is a type of four-bar mechanism, which not only has the structural characteristics of the traditional four-bar mechanisms but also can achieve multiple motion modes by changing ...

Stability and coupling dynamic characteristics of a vibrating system with one internal degree of freedom and two vibrators

, 2020
In present work the stability and coupling dynamic characteristics for a vibrating system with one internal degree of freedom, driven by two vibrators, are investigated, which is a further extension and innovation of a previous literature. In theory, the

Analysis and prediction for structural responses and hydrodynamic properties of two-degree-of-freedom vortex induced vibration

Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures, 2019
The objective of this article is to introduce a modified wake-oscillator model to systematically analyze and predict response characteristics and hydrodynamic coefficients of vortex-induced vibration (VIV) of an elastically mounted cylinder with the low ...

Bifurcation Trees of Period-1 Motions to Chaos in a Two-Degree-of-Freedom, Nonlinear Oscillator

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2015
In this paper, analytical solutions for period-[Formula: see text] motions in a two-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) nonlinear oscillator are developed through the finite Fourier series. From the finite Fourier series transformation, the dynamical system of coefficients of the finite Fourier series is developed. From such a dynamical system, the solutions of

Neimark-Sacker Bifurcations Near Degenerate Grazing Point in a Two Degree-of-Freedom Impact Oscillator

Journal of Computational and Nonlinear Dynamics, 2018
Saddle-node or period-doubling bifurcations of the near-grazing impact periodic motions have been extensively studied in the impact oscillators, but the near-grazing Neimark-Sacker bifurcations have not been discussed yet.

Similar Motion of Two-Degree-of-Freedom Nonlinear Vibrating Systems with Nonsymmetric Springs

IBM Journal of Research and Development, 1967
If similar motion occurs, it is demonstrated by a straight line (linear trajectory) in the configuration space whose orthogonal coordinates are the displacements of the masses in the vibrating system. Since the systems considered are conservative, all solutions of the equations of motion must satisfy the Principle of Least Action and its Euler-Lagrange

Development of control system for two degree of freedom hydraulic motion base

2010 2nd International Conference on Mechanical and Electronics Engineering, 2010
this paper introduces a mechanism of two degree of freedom hydraulic motion base used for flight simulator. The new system reduces the cost and complicity by using a ball as a base. The performance of the system is then evaluated by using Simscape Matlab Simulink. PI controller is added to improve the overall system response.

Design and analysis of two degrees of freedom flexure hinges with remote center of motion

Review of Scientific Instruments
This paper presents the design, analysis, fabrication, and testing of a series of two degrees of freedom (2-DOF) Remote Center of Motion (RCM) flexure hinges. These hinges are constructed using planner generalized cross-spring pivots according to the building block approach.

Type Synthesis for Remote Center of Motion Mechanisms Based on Coupled Motion of Two Degrees-of-Freedom

Journal of Mechanical Design, 2016
Robots play an increasingly important role in the development of minimally invasive surgery (MIS). In MIS assistant robot systems, the remote center of motion (RCM) mechanism is a key component, and is the primary choice as end-effector for such systems.
