We present a quantum SWAP gate valid for quantum systems of an arbitrary dimension. The gate generalizes the CNOT implementation of the SWAP gate for qubits and keeps its most important properties, like symmetry and simplicity.

Two-Dimensional Quarter Space Problems in One-Speed Transport Theory [PDF]
Methods derived from the theory of several complex variables are used as a means of analyzing a class of two‐dimensional transport problems in a scattering and absorbing quarter space (0 ≤ x_1, 0 ≤ x_2, −∞ ≤ x_3 ≤ ∞) described by a linear, one‐speed ...

Duplex Stainless Steel Laser‐Surface Textured: Stability in Brine Solution
Controlled laser‐surface treatment (LST) of duplex DSS2205 steel is performed to increase its stability in brine solution under cyclic electrochemical assays. The superior protection with respect to flat and smooth panels is attributed to the presence of FeCr2O4 as the main protective oxide layer in the LST surface, after corrosion tests. The stability

All-optical retrieval of the global phase for two-dimensional Fourier-transform spectroscopy
A combination of spatial interference patterns and spectral interferometry are used to find the global phase for non-collinear two-dimensional Fourier-transform (2DFT) spectra.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

Generalized Approximate Message Passing Detector for GSM-OTFS Systems
Orthogonal Time Frequency Space (OTFS) as a two-dimensional modulation scheme designed in the delay-Doppler domain, is realized by inverse symplectic finite Fourier transform (ISFFT) and symplectic finite Fourier transform (SFFT), for combating the high ...

Sequential measurement of conjugate variables as an alternative quantum state tomography
It is shown how it is possible to reconstruct the initial state of a one-dimensional system by measuring sequentially two conjugate variables. The procedure relies on the quasi-characteristic function, the Fourier-transform of the Wigner quasi ...

Exploring two-dimensional electron gases with two-dimensional Fourier transform spectroscopy
The dephasing of the Fermi edge singularity excitations in two modulation doped single quantum wells of 12 nm and 18 nm thickness and in-well carrier concentration of ∼4 × 1011 cm−2 was carefully measured using spectrally resolved four-wave mixing (FWM) and two-dimensional Fourier transform (2DFT) spectroscopy. Although the absorption at the Fermi edge
