Two‐fluid hydrodynamic model of a bubble flow

Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics, 2001
The authors propose a computational model of unsteady one-dimensional gas-liquid flow by taking into account the gravity. The model includes the Zuber-Findlay relation and solutions of Cauchy problem close to the solutions of drift models. It is shown that the effect of added mass has a significant influence on acoustic characteristics of the flow.

Two-Fluid Model of Biofilm Disinfection

Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, 2007
We consider a dynamic model of biofilm disinfection in two dimensions. The biofilm is treated as a viscous fluid immersed in a fluid of less viscosity. The bulk fluid moves due to an imposed external parabolic flow. The motion of the fluid is coupled to the biofilm inducing motion of the biofilm.

Comparisons and applications of the full two-fluid plasma model to asymptotic two-fluid models

2008 IEEE 35th International Conference on Plasma Science, 2008
Summary form only given. Asymptotic approximations are applied to the full two-fluid plasma system. The approximations include ignoring electron inertia, setting the speed of light to infinity, and ensuring charge neutrality. Applying all three approximations together leads to the Hall-MHD model and causes the Whistler wave speed in this system to grow

«Two fluids» model of a simple liquid

Il Nuovo Cimento B Series 11, 1979
Two extreme models of a simple fluid are considered. The first is the ideal gas in which the atoms are described simply by plane waves; in the second every atom is considered as harmonically coupled to the «bubble» within which it sits and the «bubble» systems is assumed in turn to form a free gas.

Two-fluid cosmological models

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1986
Homogeneous and isotropic, relativistic two-fluid cosmological models are investigated. In these models two separate fluids act as the source of the gravitational field, as represented by the FRW line element. The general theory of two-fluid FRW models in which neither fluid need be comoving or perfect is developed. However, attention is focused on the

The Two-Fluid Model

1972
In the conducting-fluid approximation the current density is found from Ohm’s law, which is not very accurate for a plasma. A more detailed description of the electric currents in a plasma is given by the two-fluid model, the two fluids being the electrons and the ions.

RELAP5 Two-Fluid Model

2016
In this chapter, we consider the full 1D TFM of RELAP5 for bubbly vertical flows and assess its linear stability behavior and material wave propagation capabilities in light of the linear stability analyses of Chap. 5, i.e., the characteristics and the dispersion relation.

A two-fluid model for avalanche and debris flows

Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2005
Geophysical mass flows—debris flows, avalanches, landslides—can contain O (10 6 –10 10 ) m 3 or more of material, often a mixture of soil and rocks with a significant quantity of interstitial fluid. These flows can be tens of meters in depth and

Two-Fluid Model CFD

2016
In this chapter we first address TFM CFD simulations for several cases of bubbly flow that are of engineering interest. We then consider the application of the two-phase 1D TFM stability results of previous chapters to TFM CFD, specifically to the numerical convergence of an ill-posed model.

The two-fluid model of superconductivity

Proceedings of the Physical Society, 1966
The basis of the two-fluid model of superconductivity is discussed especially for dirty superconductors. It is shown that for the free-electron model of a metal the superfluid velocity can be defined by vs = ps/m where the macroscopic order parameter depends on position through the phase factor ps r, and where m is the band mass.
