Two‐Photon Absorption of Bismuth Germanate
physica status solidi (b), 1989AbstractTwo‐photon absorption of BGO is observed between 4.8 and 5.7 eV. The results confirm and extend previous investigations on two‐photon excited luminescence. In particular the two‐photon spectra do not show the first three structures observed in the reflectivity measurements.

Two-photon absorption and two-photon induced absorption of liquid toluene at 347.15 nm
Optical and Quantum Electronics, 1999Pump pulse transmission and time-delayed probe pulse transmission measurements through liquid toluene were performed with linear and circular polarized second harmonic pulses of a mode-locked ruby laser system. Two-photon absorption and two-photon induced absorption are observed. The induced absorption anisotropy is investigated. A theory of two-photon

Two-photon absorption in proustite
Soviet Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1973The two-photon absorption coefficient of proustite was measured at the ruby and neodymium laser wavelengths at pumping intensities up to 35 MW/cm2: Its values were 0.1 and 0.03 cm/MW, respectively. The two-photon absorption exhibited no anisotropy associated with the polarization of the incident radiation. An analysis was made of the limiting influence

Two-photon absorption in nitrobenzol
Journal of Optics A: Pure and Applied Optics, 1999When nitrobenzol is illuminated by an intense picosecond pump beam at nm, it displays a two-photon absorption (TPA) phenomenon which can be explained by the presence of the excited states in the calculated level diagram. The combination of TPA and optical Kerr effect leads to a strong modulation of the transmission of a probe beam in the presence of a

Two-Photon Absorption in Polybenzidine
MRS Proceedings, 1994AbstractPolymers of Benzidine were synthesized by hydrogen peroxide reaction catalyzed by horseradish peroxidase enzyme. The polymerization reaction was carried out at room temperature in a monophasic organic solvent with a small amount of water at pH 7.5.The technique of degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) with nanosecond and picosecond pulses was ...

THEORY OF TWO-PHOTON ABSORPTION
Canadian Journal of Physics, 1967The two-photon absorption process is discussed using a density matrix formalism. The electromagnetic field is described by means of coherent states, a technique that permits a simple evaluation of the effect of coherence on the transition probability. It is concluded that the latter is the same for a coherent and an incoherent pulse of radiation.

Abstract The two-photon absorption spectrum of CuCl at 4.2°K is studied in the energy range of the excitonic lines. The observed lines are suggested to be due to the creation of excitons in the 1S, 2P and 3P states and also to the simultaneous creation of 2P and 3P excitons and one or more longitudinal optical phonons.

The two-photon absorption spectrum of ZnS at RT and LNT is presented. The magnitude of the nonlinear absorption cross section is discussed with respect to pumping by means of two-photon absorption and with respect to second-harmonic attenuation in ZnS.

Two-Photon Absorption and Coherence
Physical Review, 1967We study the probabilities for two-photon absorption processes induced by both coherent and thermal light when acting on an atomic system. Calculations are performed with quantum electrodynamics, and we find results similar to those obtained with semiclassical methods; that is, the two-photon absorption probability depends on the statistical properties

Squeezing in two-photon absorption
Optics Communications, 1984Abstract The conditions for homodyne detection of squeezing are related to the density matrix of the squeezed light. It is shown that coherent light subjected to two-photon absorption for an appropriate length of time develops a small amount of squeezing.
