A Study of Sample Size for Two-Stage Cluster Sampling [PDF]
In a large scale survey, cluster sampling design in which a set of observation units called clusters are selected is often used to satisfy practical restrictions on time and cost. Especially, a two stage cluster sampling design is preferred when a strong intra-class correlation exists among observation units.

Using Judgment Post Stratification in Two Stage Cluster Sampling
The judgment post stratification is a method of stratification of observation by using a key variable, such that stratification will be done after selecting the sample. In this paper, this method will use in two stage cluster sampling.

Edgeworth expansions for two‐stage sampling with applications to stratified and cluster sampling [PDF]
AbstractA two‐term Edgeworth expansion for the standardized version of the sample total in a two‐stage sampling design is derived. In particular, for the commonly used stratified and cluster sampling schemes, formal two‐term asymptotic expansions are obtained for theStudentizedversions of the sample total.

Bayesian Predictive Inference for a Finite Population Proportion: Two-Stage Cluster Sampling
SUMMARY Given binary data from a two-stage cluster sample, we present a method to carry out Bayesian predictive inference for a finite population proportion. Our probabilistic specification should be useful for many surveys of this type and yields simple analytical expressions for the prior and posterior mean and variance. Within cluster

Two-stage clustering based effective sample selection for classification of pre-miRNAs
To solve the class imbalance problem in classification of pre-miRNAs with ab initio method, a novel sample selection method is proposed according to the characteristics of pre-miRNAs. Real/pseudo pre-miRNAs are clustered based on their stem similarity and their distribution in high dimensional sample space respectively.

Precision of Design Effect in Cluster Sampling [PDF]
A simulation study is performed to examine the precision of design effect in single-stage and two-stage cluster sampling without stratification and equal cluster sizes. Interest is focused on the effect on precision of such factors as sample size, number

Estimation of a quantile in finite population
An estimator of the quantile of a study variable distribution function in finite population and its confidence interval is proposed. The estimator is adapted to the two-stage cluster sample which is used in a household budget survey carried out in ...

Optimal Design of Electrically Fed Hybrid Mars Ascent Vehicle
The optimal design of the propulsion system for a potential Mars Ascent Vehicle is analyzed, in the context of the Mars Sample Return Mission. The Mars Ascent Vehicle has to perform an initial ascent phase from the surface and then circularize into a 170
