Two-Stage Negative Adaptive Cluster Sampling
Communications in Mathematics and Statistics, 2018The authors deal with adaptive cluster sampling, a better alternative of the simple random sampling in cases when the population is rare and clustered. With this approach, auxiliary information is often used in order to overcome the problem with the increasing sample size.

A poisson-gamma model for two-stage cluster sampling data
Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation, 2001We propose a model for count data from two-stage cluster sampling, where observations within each cluster are subjected simultaneously to internal influences and external factors at the cluster level. This model can be seen as a two-stage hierarchical model with local and global predictors. This parameter-driven model causes the counts within a cluster

Two Stage Inverse Adaptive Cluster Sampling With Stopping Rule Depends upon the Size of Cluster
Sankhya B, 2018Consider a finite population of size \(N\) divided into \(K\) non-overlapping clusters each of size \(N_i\), \(i=1,2,\dots,K\). In the first stage, a probability proportional to size sample of size \(k\) without replacement (ppswor) is selected. At the second stage, a simple random sample of size \(n_i\) \((i=1,2,\dots,k)\) is drawn without replacement

Two-Stage Cluster Sampling with Ranked Set Sampling in the Secondary Sampling Frame
Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2008Motivated by a real-life problem, we develop a Two-Stage Cluster Sampling with Ranked Set Sampling (TSCRSS) design in the second stage for which we derive an unbiased estimator of population mean and its variance. An unbiased estimator of the variance of mean estimator is also derived.

To estimate the mean of a quantitative variable in a hierarchical population, it is logistically convenient to sample in two stages (two-stage sampling), i.e. selecting first clusters, and then individuals from the sampled clusters. Allowing cluster size

In multilevel populations, there are two types of population means of an outcome variable ie, the average of all individual outcomes ignoring cluster membership and the average of cluster-specific means.

Two‐stage cluster samples with judgment post‐stratification
Canadian Journal of Statistics, 2021Estimation of the population mean or total in a clustered population can be done using a two‐stage sampling design. Here we present design‐unbiased estimators and their variances and approximate confidence intervals for the population mean and total for sampling designs in which a cluster sampling is undertaken at each stage as either judgment post ...
