Two‐stage complete allocation sampling
An adaptive sample involves modifying the sampling design on the basis of information obtained during the survey while remaining in the probability sampling framework. Complete allocation sampling is an efficient and easily implemented 2‐phase adaptive sampling design that targets field effort to rare species and is logistically feasible.

Don't spin the pen: two alternative methods for second-stage sampling in urban cluster surveys
In two-stage cluster surveys, the traditional method used in second-stage sampling (in which the first household in a cluster is selected) is time-consuming and may result in biased estimates of the indicator of interest. Firstly, a random direction from

On Some Predictive Ratio Type Estimators in Two Stage Sampling [PDF]
Some predictive ratio type estimators in two stage sampling are derived following the model free predictive criterion proposed by Basu (1971) and these estimators are compared with the classical multistage ratio estimator and also with Smith’s (1969 ...

On two-stage adaptive cluster sampling to assess pest density
The adaptive cluster sampling introduced by Thompson is a powerful method for a survey of a population which is highly clumped with clumps widely separated.

Interactive Linear Models in the Context of Two-Stage Sampling [PDF]
We study an interactive linear model that incorporates investigator and/or supervisor interventions in the context of a two-stage sampling design. We obtain an unbiased estimator of the finite population total and derive an unbiased estimator of its ...

Calibration-Based Mean Estimators under Stratified Median Ranked Set Sampling
Using auxiliary information, the calibration approach modifies the original design weights to enhance the mean estimates. This paper initially proposes two families of estimators based on an adaptation of the estimators presented by recent researchers ...
