Super-resolution two-photon microscopy via scanning patterned illumination

open access: yesPhysical review. E, Statistical, nonlinear, and soft matter physics, 2015
We developed two-photon scanning patterned illumination microscopy (2P-SPIM) for super-resolution two-photon imaging. Our approach used a traditional two-photon microscopy setup with temporally modulated excitation to create patterned illumination fields.

Insulating‐Passivating Interfaces for Narrow‐Bandgap Tin‐Lead Perovskites Enable High‐Photovoltage in Single‐ and Double‐Junction Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Combining field‐effect surface passivation of a narrow‐bandgap tin–lead perovskite by diammonium ions with introducing oleyl‐based amphiphiles to create insulating interface layers between the absorber and the adjacent hole and electron transporting layers increases the open‐circuit voltage to 91.5% of the detailed‐balance limit and enhances the power ...

Automated analysis of spine dynamics on live CA1 pyramidal cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Dendritic spines may be tiny in volume, but are of major importance for neuroscience. They are the main receivers for excitatory synaptic connections, and their constant changes in number and in shape reflect the dynamic connectivity of the brain.

GeS as an Emerging OTS Material: Atomic Structure and Modeling of ON/OFF Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The structural puzzle of glassy GeS, an advanced memory‐selector material, has finally been disentangled, revealing a patchwork of mixed tetrahedral and trigonal species. Under a high electric field, over‐ and under‐coordinated Ge and S defects, together with three‐membered rings, form an interconnected network associated with localized and extended ...

Multicolor two-photon light-sheet microscopy

open access: yes, 2014
International audienceTwo-photon microscopy is the most effective approach for deep-tissue fluorescence cellular imaging; however, its application to high-throughput or high-content imaging is often hampered by low pixel rates, challenging multicolor ...

Neuromorphic Devices for Extreme Environments: State‐Variable Reliability and Stabilization Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Neuromorphic devices for extreme environments are interpreted through the physical states that store and process information. Radiation, temperature extremes, and vacuum can perturb vacancies, filaments, trapped charges, polarization, interfaces, and readout signals.

Unilateral peripheral vestibular dysfunction disrupts motion-evoked neuronal responses in primary visual cortex

open access: yesNeurobiology of Disease
Acute unilateral peripheral vestibular destruction (AUPVD) causes dizziness, characterized by both visual and motion-related disturbances. Although it is well established that the vestibular nuclei receive auditory and visual sensory inputs and play a ...

Configuration‐Encoded Cell Alignment by Light‐Gated Silicon Photovoltaic Microcell Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Light‐gated silicon photovoltaic microcells convert pulsed illumination into localized electrical cues. Arranging otherwise similar microcells into four‐lobed, six‐lobed, or circular patterns directs fibroblasts into corresponding local arrangements without wired stimulation.

Monitoring Photosensitizer Uptake Using Two Photon Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy

open access: yesTheranostics, 2012
Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) provides an opportunity for treatment of various invasive tumors by the use of a cancer targeting photosensitizing agent and light of specific wavelengths. However, real-time monitoring of drug localization is desirable because

Ultra-large field-of-view two-photon microscopy.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2015
We present a two-photon microscope that images the full extent of murine cortex with an objective-limited spatial resolution across an 8 mm by 10 mm field. The lateral resolution is approximately 1 µm and the maximum scan speed is 5 mm/ms.
